Enjoyed that.
at the risk of being unsavoury wrt the recent news.......
it appears you can reanimate a corpse and make it entertain us!! Go Ozzy!
Most of Ozzy! 😄 those teeth were something else, they were possessed!
I caught last 20mins but the Mrs said it was good, I enjoyed Ozzy and the gang.
Wife and daughter were in the crowd, will get a report when they get home in the early hours.
I missed most of it and turned on just as Ozzy started. Reanimated corpse and possibly reading the lyrics but sounded surprisingly awesome.
“Never say die” would have been my choice, but I’ll settle for Sabbath playing Paranoid.
PS if Tony is on guitar and Ozzy is singing it’s Sabbath.
I’ve been complaining for the last two weeks that there’s been no Ozzy / Sabbath (apart from the opening ident). Then I went and missed it tonight! Guess I’ll be watching it tomorrow lunchtime on iPlayer 👍
Thought the sound was shit on tv Hope it was better in the stadium
The sound levels were a bit patchy, especially for vocals were the levels were a bit too low for some singers but the sound quality for Goldie's Inner city life was awesome.
Other than that, the staging and choreography was superb I thought and the whole thing seemed geared very heavily towards the young, which suited this old fast just fine.
When the commentators said 'who do you think it will be?' just before the last set you just knew it would be Sabbath. Funny thing is, because of 'iron man' and Ozzy in general Sabbath probably have a greater recognition amongst young audiences than any of their more lauded peers from back in the day.
When the commentators said ‘who do you think it will be?’ just before the last set you just knew it would be Sabbath
Yep - I was watching at home with eldest and when they asked "Who do you nothing it will be?"I said "Sabbath.....bloody hell, it IS Sabbath".
possibly reading the lyrics
He's been reading lyrics at live shows forever so I am sure he was. Still, he's Ozzy, he can do what the hell he wants as far as I am concerned. \m/
I thought it was astonishingly on the nose.
A pastiche of the 'industrial revolution' part of the London 2012 Olympics handover, complete with Kashmir as the soundtrack. It couldn't have been more blatant in the callback without sticking Jimmy Page on top of a bus.
Except... in Birmingham they were all pretty screwed, until a bunch of brown people arrived with suitcases and helped them rebuild everything.
👏👏 and the crowd went wild, in this house anyway 👏👏 Absolutely stunning work.
As for Ozzy,
"We've got Birmingham's finest, plus a super secret special guest!" It was only ever going to be Ozzy. The set started, there's Iommi, I'm like "yup, called it!" 😁
Sorry, but no Phantom Flan Flinger ???
Poor.
I've just watched it and it sent a tingle down my spine – for me no band comes close to them. I really wish I'd have seen it last night live without any clue it was Sabbath about to play, although I think I may have had a tear in my eye if I had. I wonder why Buttler didn't play though?
Ozzy does look at death's door though 🙁 I am surprised he remembered to self-edit his usual crowd shouts (ie, 'let's going $%&£ing crazy', 'I can't $%&£ing hear you' etc) LOL!
We went, we thought it was great. Five year old daughter has been winding up old rocker Grandad that she saw Sabbath live and he didn't 😀
