Can anyone recommend safety wellies which can be worn all day without being too uncomfortable? I'm on my second pair of Buckler Buckboots which I find fantastic for comfort. Unfortunately they've split along the top of the toe (along the edge of the steel toecap, I guess) rendering them Not Waterproof, just the same as the last pair.

I'd buy them again without hesitation - even at over £70 a pair as I find them so comfy - but for the fact that each pair lasted little more than a year. I don't really want this to become an annual outlay.

What else is out there that you can recommend?

Thanks!

I've got the Screwfix ones. Cheap and do the job, but they're not particularly padded around the steel toe, so I would go a size bigger next time and wear thicker socks.

I find them great for the allotment etc, but perhaps not to walk all day in.

Does it need to be wellies?

I wear Rigger boots and, unless you’re actually wading in actual water, they’re just as waterproof , a lot warmer and a lot more comfortable.

I rate my buck boots, if they split within a year I might be having a chat with them as I dont think that's particularly good longevity.

Not tried the safety boots, but I like Grubs Boots. Comfy and warm enough for me, so far lasted a few years.

Stanley Fatmax and gel insoles. Thick socks all year though 🙁

Have tried lots. The Dunlop ones are pretty good, have often spent most of a day in them, wide enough, steel toe and foot plate so proper safety, neoprene lining, though I have put wool inner soles in one pair - can get in green or yellow.

Thanks for the feedback.

They do need to be wellies, Perchy - I spend enough time in winter up to at least my ankles in water or very sloppy mud. Otherwise the riggers would be a great shout.

Dunlop were always my go-to before I tried on a pair of bucklers, mainly on account of the price. They were never that comfortable for me, though, and again a couple of years seemed to be the average lifespan. (I can cope with that at a tenner a time).

I do like the look of the Grubs. Might see if I can find a pair to try on. That's the thing with footwear - one person's perfect fit is another's agony!

Thanks again.
