Right you lot

The binners household nas been struck down with a bout of not-very-well-ness. The main feature of this seems to be a sore, scratchy throat, resulting in developing a voice like Mariella Frostumpet after chain-smoking 40 Gitanes. As well as assorted sniffles and sneezes

So... I fancy cooking a soup or something easy on the old tonsils. Lovely and warming and comforty. I did leek and potato last week and that were reet gradely, but I fancy something thats going to cause the minimum of pain and is also delicious. So no chilli's!

Lets have your suggestions purleez oh STW gourmets

Sod soup.

You want chocolate sponge cake with chocolate sauce and some decent quality vanilla ice cream.

I used to eat brown sugar sandwiches as a kid when I was ill.

Now I'd probably add custard as well.

Five bag crisp soup.
It's like Five spice soup, but with crisps.
Beans on toast is the highest level of sophistication I normally aim for if I feel crap.

Phwooar! Can you give me a call please? 😉

[img] [/img]

Mmmmmm....

...Where was I again? 😳 Oh yes...

You're not 'not well' really, are you Binners? Come on, let's be honest.

The sore throat is from shouting at the tellybox.

The 'feeling sorry for yourself' is the psychological impact of what was on the tellybox.

Unfortunately you will feel like this for quite some time yet. The best remedy is to Hurt Hora. It will make you feel a lot better, move much of your suffering onto him.

Fred - I sound more like Johnny Cash To be honest. If Johnny Cash had been born in Lancashire. Its my beloved who sounds like Mariella. However, any mention of finding this remotely "PHWOOAR"-ish might lead to decapitation of certain specific bits of me. She's considerably iller than me.

As for the other stuff: I've no idea what your talking about. There may have been a recent catastrophic event in my life, but like a Vietnam vet I have expunged it completely from my memory

Actually - beens on toast sounds like a winner......

When I had a scratchy sore throat I found spicy/peppery stuff helped.

Though if non spicy lentil n bacon has got to be a good shout.

I've decided I want Hagan Daas and someone to stroke my head whilst I watch episodes of Rescue Me with Firemen running about in tight pants 😛

Rice pudding. Can't beat it. Unless you have two rice puddings!

Not that you're ill, just generally?

Rice pudding. Can't beat it.

Why, does it curdle or something?

Doesn't it make the jelly melt?

Maybe you're pregnant?

Binners I had this two weeks ago. I also had severe pressure (eyes blocking then popping) - 10days and rode it out.

Awful though. Drink lots of water 🙂

Honestly. There's no pleasing some people. Alright. I'll get you Hagan Daas and chocolate cake and stroke your head, but I may have to insist on a Mariella Frostrumpet preimium for it.

I'm going with Tons suggestion myself

I also had severe pressure (eyes blocking then popping)

Hora I'm picturing

Nope, the way I make it leaves you with a pudding that could be used to build houses!

Spaghetti with a homemade napolitana sauce. Tasty in the mouth and then slidy slidy down sore throat with negligible friction coefficient. Followed by a good Barollo.

joolsburger - good call. I might do that to leave in the slow cooker all day tomorrow. Doubtful as it is that the Haggan Daas will provide a miracle overnight cure

I do a nice multi layered tortilla stack.

Several layers of tortilla sandwiched with seasoned mince meat and salsa,
onions and grated cheese.
Takes around 40mins in total

Always a hit

David also wishes you better.

I don't think he's very good with numbers though...

Sorry Binners, but it's got to be done. It's for your own good....
