Missed it the first time round. Is it worth watching the oldies before the new series starts?

Probably, if not for character histories but because it was just a bloody good show (& bits filmed around where we used to live).

i never saw it but didn't let that stop me developing an irrational hatred of it anyway. Looks rubbish. Don't watch it.

No idea how well it would work now, but it really was the TV series of the moment (late 90s). Thoroughly enjoyed it first time round.

Certainly a brilliant programme of it's time. Funny and poignant in equal measure. Not sure how it will work in a more modern setting.

*SPOILER ALERT*

One of the most sudden and shocking TV deaths I can remember. And the most hysterically funny episode with the ashes afterwards.

Cold Feet was brilliant.
If you can watch the original 5 series then do.
Having said that, I used to love This Life (around same time) - they did a reunion type thing and it was shite.
Hope CF doesn't go the same way!

Never watched it first time round either. Bit of a dilemma cos I think John thingy (Thompson) from the Fast Show is great, but can't stand James Nesbitt.

Absolutely - she's there to add the twist.

I enjoyed it although it was a bit contrived in places setting the new plot up.

Certainly contrived and disliked a few elements. Characters not as likeable as in the original. Still imminently watchable though.

Methinks the fit landlady has a more prominent role to play.

I want to give John Thomson a hug - he continues to look like he needs it.

Must admit it was quite watchable.Drinking in one scene was in my old local too-The Woodstock if I'm not mistaken.I met James Nesbitt years ago in Prague 5 on Canal St and he was the quintissential witty, lubricated and loquacious Irishman.Coincidentally I also saw John Thompson's stand up comedy comeback at the Royal Exchange when he had a meltdown part way through(drink or lack of reherasal was hard to tell).TBF all the audience got a refund and he was excellent in a play we saw there on another occasion.

Having endured the last few weeks of it . . . . I just don't get it. It's pish and dull.

I gave up after the first episode - same old characters, same old tropes that I found boring the first time.

Mrs Dubs continues to watch it...

I've watched a couple of episodes of the latest series and it's a damp squib of a thing. And James Nesbitt overacts every scene! Can't watch him, sorry.

Struggling abit now. Think the writers are now in the story padding out phase.
