Love these games and want the new one on 8/11. Sainsburys normally have a deal on stock for limited period which is where I normally get one.

Anyone know of any supermarket deals happening this year?

£5 off if you pre-order at Tesco is all I'm aware of currently.

Battlefield 3 is more than worth a look instead of COD.

Have they sorted the hosting issues for multiplayer in the new version?

I've got an xbox 360 - much more reliable online gaming servers, don't think Black Ops has ever gone down since I've played it.

Not got a problem so much with it being flakey - it's more if you end up as the host you can really tell, game lags, hit markers don't appear etc... I quit everytime I spot I'm the host - never experienced problems like it on MW2.

Strange....I've never experienced that 😕

Personally think Blackops has been the best so far as most balanced....hope MW3 is going to be good.

Googled it, so it isn't just me, I spotted it when I upgraded my broadband to improve my gaming experience. Instead it means I seem to host 1 in 3 games, and when you get it, it stays with you. Seen the game pause for 'host migration'? That;s the host quitting. Probably as they've spotted it lagging badly - but just for them.

Of course I could just be rubbish in Black Ops and much better in MW2...

(am talking about ps3)

I understand there has been a number of issues on PS3 online version of Black ops, so can see why you hope MW3 will be better. I used to have both consoles, but although you have to pay for xbox live, the online experience is generally smoother and more reliable. Both great consoles though.

Black Ops a complete pig online for many months (PS3). Now better though a pain with joining your mates if NAT setting is wrong. MW2 never had a problem.

DT78's explanation makes sense - I upgraded to fibre optic bb and suddenly started killing people rather than being cannon fodder. Then suddenly things change and it lags - is the host the one at the top of the list?

Its a shame Blackops has been a pig on the PS3, it's awesome IMO. Had some teething probs but credit to developers, the patch updates worked well. Noob tubing, quick scoping and map glitches we're a pain on MW2 and let it down badly.
