Does anyone use any of the club administration software packages that are now available?
Trying to reduce the amount of paperwork and computer duplication in our kayak club and looking at club administration software as a possible solution.
Looking at Webcollect, Myclubhouse and gomembership. Are there any others I should look at?
Does anyone use these - how did you choose and does it change your life as much as the marketing material suggests?
The bike club I'm in use WebCollect. I find the admin interface terrible; messy, convoluted, hard to find what I need but for the most part it does what we need it to. Maybe it depends how much time you have to learn it and how often you use it. I want to spend the least possible amount of time on club admin so I'm not a frequent user. We use it for event bookings (eg. weekends away), managing membership sign ups & paying membership subs via annual direct debit (there was an extra charge for this). You can extract data but it's clunky. We use the email function to send out messages to all subscribers or those signed up for specific trips. We didn't need to pay much for it, only when we went over 100 members - but that was down to our slow management. Some people were filling in membership forms but not buying a sub so it increases our members headcount but they're not full members until they've paid the subs.
We're looking for an alternative to WebCollect so I'll take a look at Myclubhouse and gomembership. Does your kayaking sporting association have any online tools for clubs? Might be worth a look.
Gomembership is through the kayaking governing body as that's what they use for their membership system. Seems quite clunky the bits I've used so trying to find something that's a bit more intuitive. Maybe that's not webcollect.
