Clover set up a bike cargo Co. in Hebden Bridge.

What a fantastic thing to do. Helping small business's in the area get their goods out there. I wish we had something like that in our small town. Go girl.

She was filmed for BBC breakfast this morning.

Didn’t know Beate used the forum but I do now know how to pronounce her name unless the BBC got it wrong 😀

Cargo bikes for the win!

Only yesterday's Breakfast on the iPlayer now, expires at 9.15. So presumably today's will be up at a similar time or a bit after, and available til Weds morning.

Bertha - one of the cargo bikes has done 1,500 miles - brilliant.

On at 7.47am if it's on iplayer (not sure).

Edit - Thanks thenorthwind.

Beate kept that one quiet!

I'll have a viewing of that. Thanks for the heads up Bunnyhop. I heard Cargodale has a very nicely designed logo 😉

binners - they do indeed have a wonderfully designed logo :o).
Also a nicely made cargobike cover. Although I didn't end up finishing the whole thing, due to problems that were out of our control.
Beate - whoever finished the weather proof covers, did a good job.

We have a similar company in Southampton running a fleet of cargo bikes, they even deliver the veg boxes for a local firm. Great to see 👍.

Figured it out (I hope)

This might also be of interest - it's the online shopping portal for all the local independent shops. I'm trying really hard not to buy donuts and cheese now.

Oh, and due credit to our Amanda who has been doing (unpaid) Cargodale deliveries in between all the other stuff she has to do for STW!

I wonder if it was filmed by STW's very own BBC Breakfast cameraman?

wrong side of the Pennines I think, I didn't recognise the BBC presenter so was probably a Leeds crew rather than Manchester

I thought "Clover from STW" was a poodle. I need to keep up.

Great to see the north catching up 😉 We've had one in Canterbury for years http://velocitycouriers.co.uk
Must admit I can't see how they do it considering how low the prices are, but there are several businesses I know which use them regularly (you can have your fresh food delivery from the local organic farm by bicycle, how eco is that 😃) so it obviously works!

Not sure how flat Canterbury is, but Hebden Bridge is a little on the hilly side.

Pretty flat, one big hill up towards the university. Not great for cycling though as the roads are really congested and there are naff all cycle lanes! Hopefully now e-bikes are better/cheaper we'll see more of these couriers popping up!
