I know it came out 10 years ago but watched it for the first time tonight, and I thought it was fantasic! Great story(s), excellent acting with a key theme linking it all up and so many layers to the movie that I could probably watch it again and pick up details I hadn't spotted first time.
After watching it, I'm struggling to understand why it was a complete flop when it came out and is still considered a flop?
I read the book first (which I thought was excellent)and thought that the film did a fair job.
The book is amazing. The film is great if you've read the book; I can imagine that if you have not read the book it could be a bit baffling.
Yup, really enjoyed both
Surprising to see Hugh Grant as a violent baddie. I thought it did a pretty good job of interpreting a great book. The only Wachowski film worth watching apart from the original Matrix.
Read the book when it first came out and really enjoyed it, and the way some of the themes were weaved throughout the different stories. I found the film a confused mess that although long, by abridging the original story had lost much of what made the book special.
Feels like a prime target for a 10 part Netflix series.
