We have a four year old ‘American’ style fridge/freezer which has a water and ice dispenser.
It was 12 months old when we moved in three years ago and hasn’t been used since as I suggested it may need a filter change first (which I never got round to). It still dispenses water and ice but I imagine it needs a good flush through/cleaning ice trays etc along with a filter change?
Is there anything I can run through it to avoid giving everyone the lurgy or is it just a case of new filter and run it through for a while?
I run this through the motorhome water system a couple of times a year. No one's died yet. Doesn't leave a nasty taste/odour behind once you've flushed the system which is good, too.

Thanks wwaswas. Best I could think of was the Milton sterilising liquid.
