can anyone help plz
I have a company berlingo 2018 van, and I find the driving position really uncomfortable, too upright (with the ladder bulkhead) and not much leg (stretch) room.
can anyone tell me if the dispatch has more front cabin space, or is it just longer at the rear?
thanks in advance
New Dispatch is a totally different vehicle so you'll need to go try one. Seat generally is higher than the old Dispatch (no longer has a shelf above the windscreen).
A 6ft 7in colleague has a Berlingo Multispace same vintage as yours and thinks it is the most comfortable thing ever - maybe the problem is the ladder bulkhead?
The completely new Berlingo has just come out so you probably need to try that as well.
thanks Mick
the middle seat in the berlingo is attached to the ladder bulkhead, the companys vans are leased, and they wont let me take the ladder out.
I hate it lol, not enough legroom and too upright, ill try and get to have a look at a dispatch
Don't know if it helps but just had a look in new shape Dispatch - I'm 5'10" and got 3 - 4 clicks to the back of the seat rail travel. Fully back I can still get clutch to the floor. Think that is with the seat fairly low (wheel obscures speedo dial if seat fully up). We did some big trips this summer and seats are much better than old model.
The 3 seat berlingo (2.5 really) was optional so guess you might find a 2 seat where ladder bulkhead is different / removable. Not sure what the new new one is like.
I hate Berlingos and their Partner sibling for exactly the reason stated. The ones I drive around are ex-Motability vehicles, and are modified to carry a wheelchair in the back, but the front seats behave as if there is a bulkhead behind them. As I have an arthritic left knee, having to sit with it bent in one position for several hours, like driving back from Cornwall, would end with me almost in tears because of the pain. It’s the fact that there’s a footrest by the side of the brake/clutch pedal filling in the space that’s there on most cars, and which allows one’s leg to extend down into the footwell.
Glad it’s not just me who suffers when driving the dratted things! At least now the furthest I drive one is about half a mile.
I find the leg room and seat in my 13 plate dispatch fine. Done 1000 plus miles down to lake Garda with no problems. I'm 6 foot tall.
thanks everyone for your replies
I think ill have to sit in one and try it
cheers
