Chromecast's rolling screensaver just spewed up an eye-catching photo by one "Yunli Song." A spot of Googling later tells me it's "Oxford University under the Winter Milky Way."

Now ok, it's a composite, and HDR with all the baggage that entails. But despite the "trickery" I thought it was really quite striking and well done.

And there's more.

The Oxford Uni pic looks like a model from a Ridley Scott film, in a good way.
The other pics are excellent too, they put my own Durdle Dor pics to shame.

Edit; "Sunset on Westminster Bridge v2" really holds my attention.

all the baggage

Really does have all the baggage in that one! Doesn't work for me.

Utterly dreadful. It's not so much the sin of being a composite that makes me want to gnaw one of my own legs off, but rather the use of HDR on the buildings. The photographer's large intestine really should have lept up through his neck and throttled his brain.

I don't really mind if something is a composite if the result is good.

I'm not really keen on the shot tho, it looks a little disjointed, it's hard to put into words but it doesn't do it for me I'm afriad 🙁
