Chrome Kadet mini messenger bag as in [url=
]link here has anyone got one or seen one in the flesh? - it looks the ideal size for my carry about bag, big enough for my daily junk, camera/book/water bottle/mini ipad etc. My current 10yr old crumpler weenie is starting to die thanks to wear on the bottom and years of ingrained dirt has left it looking rather grubby/rank despite a 60dg wash - it doesn't help that i threw it on top of a hot hob a while ago and melted the bottom corner which now has an apple sized hole held together with a quick fix of dodgy shoelace stitching.
Or is there anything else i should be looking at - 8 litres or less as i don't need a massive bag.
Cheers
Not sure on volume size, but how about a UK Handmade one?

I like the understated look of it but it's a bit too big when looking at the pics and the roll top design puts me off, yeah…i'm fussy ain't i?. cheers though.
Trakke Bairn? made in Scotland too
have a look
I've just did a search for uk made messenger bags and trakke came up so i looked through and i really like the size and style of the bairn…but the price….eek!, £125 for waxed cotton. I Still like it though and it's not got that daft big Chrome branded buckle so it's now to top of my list.
I've got the larger version of that Chrome bag. It's now over 6 years old , gets regular use and it still looks new. Very well made and fully water proof.
Who'd have thought there is an entire area of the interweb dedicated to reviewing messenger style bags?, thanks to a link i've found the timbuk2 classic in xs, half the price of the trakke which may unfortunately swing the deal for me despite how much i want the trakke bairn.
I've got one of those Timbuk2 classic messenger XS. Had it a few years now, its lasting well, nice and colourfaul. I like it, nice size for my everyday stuff. I also have a padded insert, so I can use it as a camera bag - good fit for my Micro 4/3 camera, plus a couple of lenses, batteries, filters etc.
Note the XS messenger does not include a cross strap as standard. So it can swing about it if cycling, or running for the bus etc. Maybe a strap could be added. Its comfy for everyday walking anyway.
Yeah i ended up buying the timbuk2 xs in boring black as it'll not show the grime as much and the red/black option when worn with my red waterproof jacket may have looked a bit like i'm trying too hard - not that fussed about the cross strap as my old crumpler weenie didn't have one either - shame my weenie has died though as it's lasted me well and they are no longer available - i'll have to remove my wombats and columbus tubing patches from it.
