Sprootlet, as myopic said - they spelt it wrong, their spelling is on the abacus.

Guinness clue - they're missing an N in the answer.

Red shoes - you're on the right track re the films.  The answer is in the famous song from the film, if that helps?

Cat poster -  I've still got nothing for the bottome clue.

Just the gladiator or whatever they are and the balloon for me. The totempole was driving me mad, there's a book called Totempole and the main character is called Wolfe but of course it wasn't that!

And on the classics I was missing one fairly easy one, a shaggy dog story which woke me up at two this morning as the answer appeared in my head.

Stork is a similar looking bird.  What do  Americans often call underpants?

Gingerbread man was a book I'd never heard of - not fary tale related in any way.

and FWIW the Lighthouse sign and the O and N on the street.

Not looked at the quiz but there's only two books that can be...

(Actually, have I missed a joke? My fault for not reading the thread. Given what the sign is indicating the way to? And what O and N spell and another word for street...😁)

Right, this ninja fella. I've tried variations on a theme based on a series of books by Rick Riordan. Am I barking up the right tree or not.  It's been driving me nuts!  I have this one and one other that i have no idea what it is to get on the children's books...

Right on to the classics.
Ones left to get are (I think):
- the dove
- the rose - who is that meant to be holding it?
- the woman on Tim Jones' belt
- the panther / werewolf

The ninja fella - another word for robber (and it's not burglar bill!)

@pocpoc - the dove is a symbol of something, that belt is making me unhappy, it's not a panther/werewolf (there's a link with a character on one of the other pages), harry potter would be scared of the rose lady

If you think that's a werewolf someone's been telling you a shaggy dog story

You are half-way there with the dove, but it's the second half you have

I see no one holding a rose, perhaps it's an illusion

The belt, you go looking and you'll win

A got it and the one I was missing, that elderly chap holding a letter. Never heard of it but did a "say what you see"

Onto finish kids now,6 left. Loads seem to not be clues, so might take a while!

– the dove
– the rose – who is that meant to be holding it?
– the woman on Tim Jones’ belt
– the panther / werewolf

1: What's next to the dove?
2: Think Dickens
3: Not happy frenchies
4: Elementary my dear Watson..
