I've just signed up for a Christmas Duathalon (4k run/13k bike) at Callendar Estate:

Not too sure what to expect! I've never done one. Anyone any tips? I'm not too sure about the transition etc!

Cheers,

Stuart

Make your bike stand out for the transition. Pink handlebar tape is good for this. 🙂 the bigger the event the more important this becomes.

For a 13km bike I'd consider running flats or toe clips - easy 40s saved by not changing shoes twice. (Although you don't appear to be doing a 2nd run which is normal for a duathlon)

Practice the transitions in your garden. When your hanging from running at race speed it's harder than it looks.

That looks like it might be a fun first-ever duathlon.

Do you think I'll need the pink handlebar tape for this?
