I sing in a Male Voice Choir. Mostly a load of old Yorkshiremen singing for the love of music, traditional, some modern stuff and a good number of pieces written and arranged specifically for us.
We have a busy concert schedule, and regularly sing in Nursing Homes to entertain residents and staff alike. We usually busk and go carol singing to raise funds but this year of course none of that has been possible. At the beginning of the first lockdown we were determined not to lose any progress, so held rehearsals via Zoom, and after a few experiments persuaded a good proportion of the guys to record their parts from backing tracks on their phones and tablets, and mixed them into full choir audio tracks.
We produced a CD of songs to give to our Nursing Home regulars, and then in August started working towards a Christmas Concert. This is the result. Bear in mind we're a bunch of amateurs, many of the voices were recorded on iPhone voice memos, mixed down on Reaper and the vast majority of the video editing was done on a iPhone.
There are four 20-25 minute videos in all, a special prize for anyone that can watch all of it all the way through (part 4 is my favourite.....)
