Anyone else read the article in the Grauniad today? The man is completley unhinged, quite disturbingly so.

What is seared in my memory is lying in bed with this guy with his arm round me afterwards, and he told me that I'd done well. And I was so relieved that he approved of me. And at the same time, at just eight years old, I thought, ****ing hell, are you this much of a slut for a kind word? Would you do this much for a kind word?

Too many people are quick to condemn, too few try to understand.

Hmm. Sits very uneasily this one, eh? One one hand, he did (and admitted to) something propperly wrong. If it was research, then ffs let the relevant authorities know what you're up to, and why. It's the doing something surreptitiously then getting caught bit that will undoubtedly create disgust and contempt. And can we ever believe him? Should we ever believe him? Surely such actions cannot ever be justified, certainly not in the context he claimed. He is, undoubtedly, a scarred and damaged human being.

But then everyone should have the opportunity to explain themselves, give their own account. And judgement should be based on fact, not emotion or personal opinion.

He broke the Law, and has served his time. But what of forgiveness? Does he deserve it, ever?

Is he a worse person than this man?

And Bill Wyman's son nearly married Mandy's mother, which would have made Bill his own step grandfather. The Aristocrats.

What do you think?

Well, Chris Langham is a man convicted of downloading obscene images of child abuse, has admitted to this and been convicted for his crime, served his sentence and is attempting to make amends. He's been very honest and open it seems, ands is someone who needs help, not least because he is himself a victim of abuse.

Bill Wyman is, by the legal definition, a paedophile, as he had sex with an underage girl full knowing this to be illegal, yet has never faced any criminal charges and isn't vilified in the media and treated like scum.

Bit messed up really in't it?

Eeez a nonce ineee

He'll get that for the rest of his days if the tabloids have anything to do with it. Does he deserve it, i've no idea but perhaps keeping his head down would be better for all concerned.

I'm supportive. People make mistakes. The judge said

"Paedophilia is not an issue in this case. You are not a sexual predator."
and that is good enough for me, I'd rather believe him than a copper.
