I've made an addition to my 'inexpensive but interesting' watch collection with this beauty:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/nice-gents-vintage-hmt-pilot-17-jewels-hand-wind-watch-/293085738446?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=epTjKu0wt0wlyMre%252BqZ1s6WsdgE%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc

Arrived yesterday, and it's a smashing looking thing. Not mad keen on the strap though, and considering something else, maybe something NATO-esque.

So, STW watch geeks, what do you reckon would look good? Bear in mind the watch cost £15, so artisan-tanned unicorn leather ain't happening...

If you're going with a nato I would recommend the timefactors ones. I particularly like the braided type.

I do think a leather strap might suit it better and again the leather timefactors aviator strap is not too expensive.

I’d go leather with that, it’s possible to get leather NATO/ZULU style straps, and there are some nice ones with a deployment clasp which work really well, I’ve got one fitted to my Yema, I’ll try to find the link to it.
The link to watch band centre doesn’t seem to be working, but mine is something like this one, but with red stitching:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Leather-Watch-Strap-Alligator-Grain-Deployment-Clasp-for-Mens-Wris****ch-/291844370983

This is the one I’ve got, managed to get the site to load, and they do many, many more options. I prefer deployment clasps, the leather is less likely to wear through than with a conventional buckle.

I'd be looking at black leather for that, there's a seller on eBay, lawr389, who does some vintage type straps that might work well.

Timefactors or Watch Gecko NATO.

Edit - looking more closely, it looks as if a NATO might be too modern. So, a classic black leather jobby.

I’ve had couple from Steveostraps too and they’ve been great. Occasionally he has some worth having in his ‘sale’ although most of those tend to be gopping.
