I found myself randomly singing this the other day causing my wife to piss herself laughing. It’s a song we used to sing in school - I’m talking around late 70s/early 80s (in south Wales). I hadn’t done so since then so god knows how it got in my head - anyone else remember it?! Can’t find any recorded reference to it anywhere to prove I’m not making it up - can anyone help? 🙂

Are you taking anything for this problem?

A Google search brought up Lindsay Folk Book 1 with Douglas Coombes as arranger.

Searching for him I found Douglas Coombes - "well known to music educators and choral practitioners in the UK and beyond. He is a prolific composer, choral clinician and conductor. As a music educator, over a period of 20 years, he wrote, produced and broadcast two BBC Programmes for Schools – Time and Tune and Singing Together through which he helped teachers and children develop a love for and an understanding of music".

So there you go, you probably listened to one of those programs in primary school. I did but I don't recall that song.

I've also just come across a couple of mentions of it on school forums.

Wait, there's more - Lindsay Folk Book which says it's Czech.

UPDATE Yet more. Yes it was from BBC Singing Together Spring 1980 (go to this link and search for Ching).

Only way to get it out of your head is to replace it with something else. Here are a couple of suggestions that always work for me.
