I bought Chinese Lego in Shanghai as a pressy for a nephew. It’s tolerances are rubbish, instructions are poor, and it doesn’t stick together very well.

Genuine question from a non Lego person: as these kits are only to make one thing why not use a tiny bit of glue to held them together?

I’ve built around 5 copy lego sets. Porsche/Bugatti/Ferrari/caterham and the bond db5.. All went together very well no issues 🙂

I've never really seen the point of those Lego kits. They look pretty shit compared to good old Tamiya don't they? Lego is about using your imagination.

Whatever you think about Chinese LEGO copies in general, that site looks pretty dodgy to me. No info about who makes it (some of the copies are a lot better than others), pictures of at least two different sets (one has the square radar thingy, one round though I guess it could come with both) and it's FAR too cheap for what it purports to be. The Lepin big Falcon is the right size (though 8,500 pieces instead of 7,500) and that's $499 on their site and north of $300 on Aliexpress.

Price is about right for the smaller Falcon set, but then it's much less of a bargain.

I love the fact they'll give you your money back if they don't deliver, not really a selling point and makes you wonder why they think it is, and even more worrying they'll give a partial refund if not as described!!!!

I have probably 15 proper Lego Technics models and 3 Lepin knock-offs purchased from Aliexpress. The quality is ok but not Lego standard. Some of the colours are a bit poor, my Bugatti has a few different shades of blue and there are the odd parts that don't fit with the right tolerances. The Lepin Porsche I got came with about 10 blue connectors that had been moulded the wrong way round. Not a problem as I have plenty of spares but it would be for some.

Much less resale value, but then cost is approximately 60% saving. I prefer to buy used Lego kits where available and not at inflated prices. Lepin is good for some of the discontinued stuff people want mega bucks for.

For some reason Lightsabers were popping up on my feed for £50 for a while. THey used a photo that a US builder of sabers had put on the RPF and the comments on the advert were a lot of "nothing turned up" or "what turned up was pitiful"

So based on that........go for it
