Hi all,

I am struggling to find a 100mm travel hardtail, preferably with 135 QR on the rear dropouts to fit the hoops/shocks/parts from a broken Genesis Longitude (2016) frame. Not fussed about steel/alu etc., but needs to be be on the cheaper side of the 250-quid mark. Anyone know any Chinese companies I could order a HT that fits the spec from? Or any other ideas? There are a few Genesis Latitude frames on eBay but only as builds, no frames unfortunately, and Sonder Frontier's are too expensive these days (as frames).

Cheers,
FM

You could look up Carbonda or Ican and see what they’ve got. Both are carbon but in the past their hardtails have come within your budget I think.

Other than that it’s Aliexpress and hope for the best a bit. Avoid copies of brand names and go for ones that have their own brand. I think airwolf might be ok but don’t quote me on that.

Spesh rockhopper evo. I’ve a frame hanging in garage. It’s 650b tho. Not sure if they did a 29 version that was 135 tho.

I ran mine as a lockdown hack build gravel monstercross bike. 490mm a2c rigid fork (that’s 100mm travel equivalent i think) installed. Off a longitude actually. Felt nice.

I actually squeezed a 700x40
gravel wheelset and a 29x2.1 xc tyre in with ok clearance.

And yes it looks horrendous but it was lockdown and I needed a cheap project. Forgive me 😀

Id actually part with this frame cheap, but you’d want a respray it’s just a rattle can job then now.
