...First born (6yrs old) has chicken pox, came out in spots on Sunday.
We are off to France on the 15th so hopefully by then he'll be at the scabby part...and well over the CP.
Question ?
Will he be able to go swimming obviously he wont be contagious but it may look a little unsightly and the chlorine may hurt ?!?
Wet suit ???
I only ask as we are going to Euro camp splash park...
...2nd born (4yrs old) will prob get it whilst we are away !
Should be fine. Hope number 2 only gets a mild dose.
I'm liking the medieval style resumption of anglo-french hostilities.
I think it's bad form to let them squeeze the pustules in the pool though.
Bump on this interested if anyone has any other views
😉
Only if they've all crusted over or you chance giving chickenpox to many others using the pool.
I had it when I was 32 & thought I was actually dying. I mean really dying.
That is all.
The kid who has it now will likely have crusted up by the time you go, so it's the other one you need to watch.
contagious period tends to start shortly (couple of days) before the rash, so probably loads of kids go swimming in the period before it erupts (and, of course, so might your other one).
I suppose it'd be a tad rude to put a very obviously infectious child with a full-on poxy rash into the pool 😳
(though if it's a massive pool complex, diluting everything loads, you're probably more likely to infect folk in a restaurant at dinnertime)
Would that make it infection by homeopathy? You could start a pandemic like that.
