Chester eatery's

has anyone got any recommendations for a good meal in Chester?

(doing the Loggerheads Trial run on Saturday, staying near Chester Friday - so something pasta based!)

Thanks,

Nice spot, some good beer too.
Mold has a couple of nice spots too... https://www.thefatboar.co.uk/ is very very good.

Enjoy the run, Loggerheads/Moel Famau is my old stomping ground.

Sergio's near the Cathederal is probably the most  popular in the centre. Pacino's is on the end of a 60's shopping arcade built next to the inner ring road and has a great reputation,  though never been myself.

Edit - The Architect is a great pub but I don't remember much in the way of pasta options.

Eat here. Its outstanding. Best Italian in the area. May need to book.

Failing that there's plenty of good places to eat in Chester city centre.
This place is good too. https://www.artezzan.com/

Sergios is over rated and not a patch on La Fattoria by the way.

Fair enough,  been a while since I've used the former, and never been to the latter. I used to like that little French place just down Bridge Street from there. Gone now sadly, and I can't remember it's name.

Moules a Go Go?

Would say Chez Jules but despite having gone there a lot (not least for the free bottle of wine with a main deal they were doing) when courting Mrs RBIT I've not been in it for about 18 years.

Death by Tacos on Watergate street is really good, also the new market has lots of decent small eateries.

I'm liking it there if a little chilly when it's cold outside.  Will be a great addition once/if the other units outside get filled.

Anyway La Fatorria FTW - if you can get in..... it used to be mad busy.

Its a friggin' echo chamber and on a Saturday night you won't be able to hear yourself speak.

In addition to all the above if you want to go Tapas then The Bluebell on Northgate Street is good and for a decent steak try the Opera Grill on Pepper Street

These days Chester is very busy at the weekend so wherever you are going I'd recommend booking.

Oh yeah, and FWIW, (I suspect not much if you're doing something genuinely athletic the following day) The Caspian is still the premiere after hours Kebab joint in town, and not an insurmountable stagger back to the train station afterwards.

Discuss. 😁
