Any forumites play on http://www.chess.com/echess ? The website is shite, but the phone and tablet apps are v good.
My brother introduced it to me a few weeks ago, and since then I've been thrashing the poor bastard. But I only gain a few points for each win now, so I need fresh meat to up my ranking.
I accidentally started a random new game (i.e. not with my brother) and am now apparently playing someone from Huntsville, Texas.
I could probably manage to play someone closer to home....

Never got on with chess. Taught my mother how to play when I was young and she's (sorry) pawned me ever since.
Now, Backgammon on the other hand...
I love backgammon. Made my own set once. No idea how you can play it online. Not to mention it's better face to face.
Chess is a game for clever people. I'm not one, and hate to lose, so haven't played since I was a child.
