I was buying a Cube HT frame off a guy & he had a bunch of stuff in his shed he wanted rid of.

£25 later I had seven brand new wheels. Mostly front, 700c but a 27.5 & 26"(rear) too. Plus  complete Tiagra & Sora groupsets.(used)

Anyway, gonna punt all the stuff on eBay. The wheels would've been in the £50-80 range new so I thought £15-25 would shift them. They're unused but marked from storage.

Looking at postage however, it seems quite costly to send wheels. £13 upwards.

Okay if you're sending a pair but annoying if you're sending a relatively cheap single wheel. It's the size that's the issue as it needs to be 75 x 75cm.

Any cheaper options that people have used?

Have you tried ParcelForce? I just paid £25 to post a very large parcel (ie, extra-large house packing box with an item that weighed 7kg) – and that was with £750 insurance, guaranteed 24 hour delivery and signed for.

Haven’t sent anything recent, but when I did I used Parcelforce. You can do everything online, print off the label and either take to PF depot (cheapest), local Post Office or have them collect

PF here for wheels too.

Usually drop them at my local PO.

Having recently been shopping for "obsolete" wheels for my GFs bike, you might find they go for a fair bit more than you're thinking.

Stick this sort of thing on Facebook Marketplace with cash on collection.

Really not worth the faff of safely boxing up and mailing cheap wheels.

It's hard shifting landfill wheels on ebay, particularly front wheels. First thing anyone does on a decent new bike is take the wheels off, throw in an ass load of different standards and there's little value in it if you're having to post. Facebook marketplace as the-muffin-man says is a better bet for local pickup.

Thanks  for the input everyone.

FB is the best answer but in NE Scotland you simply don't have much of a pool of buyers so eBay has always worked well for me.

I'll try both & bite the bullet on postage I guess.
