Here's an unmunched link.

Back In The Day there was no such thing as a single standard wiring plug. To fit an aftermarket DIN E stereo, the easiest way was to nip to Halfords and buy (say) a Panasonic to Ford wiring harness kit. It looks like they still do them.

It looks like that thing is ISO plugs at one end and a fistful of bare wires at the other. Have a look on Halfords for your motor, see if you can match up the connectors. eg: https://www.halfords.com/search?q=iso+to+ford+wiring

A £23 head unit? you'll get better audio quality just by putting your phone on loudspeaker, lol!

17% of reviews give it one star....

I had the same requirements as you. I bought one that looked almost identical to the one pictured. I didn't care about any features, all I needed was an amplifier basically. What could possibly go wrong?

Turned out the volume control only had two settings, barely audible and brain bleedingly loud. Then it broke entirely and refused to do anything but play static, six days after fitting it.

So I went to halfords and bought the cheapest stereo they had. It's precisely ten billions times better.

Pug expert van (2012) with standard head unit. Bought a Bluetooth adapter to plug in where the cd autochanger would go, fits a treat but it seems this model didn't have an autochanger option so nothing on the source menu when pressed 🤪

As above, depends on the car. You can get decent brands for under a hundred quid these days. They're cheaper than what they were 20 years ago. I got mine for £40 out of the special offers bucket in Halfords 10 years ago, so worth shopping around.

have a look at whether you can get one from a later van on ebay (but with line-in) that'll just drop straight in - probably the easiest option.

firstly try unplugging it from power for ~2 hours - it might be that the unit only checks for presense of a change on first startup and remembers it

edit - take a look here https://www.peugeotforums.com/threads/aux-cd-changer-port-enabling.21146/

Was a few years ago now but I had similar requirements. Bought a cheap Panasonic one which also came with a hands free kit.

My van is fully up to spec now. Bluetooth tunes, hands free kit, under seat sub woofer and a plug in heated seat cover......

Living the dream!

I looked at these but my current head unit controls loads of other functions that I didn't really want to lose (dark mode, steering wheel controls, some servicing gubbins) so I got one of these which I plug into the aux socket and USB cigarette lighter thingy...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/UGREEN-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Receiver-Headphones/dp/B099K591CG

It works really well and now I've activated voice controls on my phone I can change what it plays too (I was just starting something playing at the start of my journey and leaving it)

Pull it out and check the wiring. Might be able to enable the source. Especially as it has the button.

Just go to halfords, you'll get a sony/pioneer/similar head unit with BT for less than £100 , and it will sound reasonably decent...youll havr to buy a cable adaptor but they are not expensive, something like this https://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/car-stereos/sony-mex-n4300bt-car-stereo-with-dual-bluetooth-connectivity-215414.html?stockInventory=undefined

...maybe even better than your current head unit, as aftermarket head units tend to have slightly better built in amplifiers than stock car stereos, so it will drive your stock speakers better, well unless you buy a £23 one, heheh.

EDIT...ye gods, the swear filter just corrected my "something" to "something". political correctness gone mad!
