I'm looking for me, I've re-entered the world of education and want a laptop just for me that the kids cant get their hands on, anything better than this at around the same price? Or should I spend more?
Try this place, pretty sure it was recommended here previously, either way they have several in your price range, with more up to date CPU’s, more ram & an ssd as standard, than your link

Nice thanks- a few Dells there that look decent.
My son recently bought a refurbished old ThinkPad for 6 form. He loves it as he's a geek. Whilst it's a lower spec than some other ones he was looking at it does appear to be bomb proof. Which is handy as it lives in his school bag.
I really like my ASUS vivo book..cheap and fun.
quite slim though, so it might not stand up to student abuse 😀
To do what?
I'm a fan of the Lenovo T-series, my work-provided T420 is still on my desk and is likely to outlast the Dell they replaced it with. They wanted the Lenovo back and I said no chance.
On the link you provided I'd definitely spend the extra on an SSD and probably the RAM upgrade also.
To use for online learning, browse internet, Microsoft office- nothing taxing. Small & robust would be good à it may be going on a bike etc.

It would be a good idea to check whether you will need to run any specific software. Obviously you will need either MS Office or the Google stuff, but any newish machine should be able to run that, but 8GB RAM and an SSD would be my minimum for a Windows machine.
If you will need to use any specialized software, it would be a good idea to find out what the recommended hardware is to run it.
As recommended to me by someone on here: https://www.tier1online.com
I got my daughter a grade B off here and it’s been great. Barley noticeable that it wasn’t new and anyway she covered it in stickers.
Bought a refurbed HP Elitebook from Tier1online a couple of years ago.
Upgraded the RAM and SSD myself, and it's been bombproof.
Use it for work, music (playing live and some recording), 3D printing/design, bit of everything really.
I'm doing a Biology A Level, with the aim of applying to a Radiography degree in a couple of years. I have A levels and a degree (art) but am thinking about changing career* Can't do it sooner unfortunately.
We have a Gaming PC and a laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad). My Mrs is in the final 2 years of a counselling course and she's on the laptop every night. It would make sense for me to have my own that's not full of everyone else's stuff.
*I wouldn't say I've had a career up to this point. Just flitted from job to job!
I recently wiped my old clunky laptop and put Ubuntu on it, runs better than new now
Provided you can get all the programs you need in Linux that could be a cheap option, buy a cheap but half decent second hand laptop and just wipe it and start fresh with a Linux install
It is a lot more user friendly than you think

I am about to sell the above the laptop will put in classifieds tonight for £230
I think it's better than the ones you are looking at, only selling to get gaming laptop
