Looking for an cheap place to spend 4-7 days in July with the Mrs, as long as there's the usual city stuff, bit of culture, food and drinks, parks, we'll be happy.

These venues ok?

Did Gdansk late last year, nice place with enough to keep us entertained for a long weekend but a week might be a bit much just depends on what your interests are.

Wroclaw is really nice, but I think I'd struggle to put a full week in there. Depends on what you're into

If you do go then I'd recommend the free walking tour that leaves from outside the old town hall (there's a tourist information office nearby that'll provide details).

July will probably be scorchio there!

Wroclaw is nice for a few days. If you have longer then it could easily be paired with Krakow to make week of it.

Not been to Gdansk yet, but I'd also visit Sopot if up that way.

A couple of yeas ago with my ex I did a week broken down to couple of days in Krakow, got overnight train to Gdansk for a few days then flew home. The train cost something like £25 and we got a private room on the train. Was ace - Early dinner in Krakow, get on train with bottle of wine watched the scenery, a film (had laptop I think) went to bed then at 6am we were in Gdansk by the seaside. Highly recommended!

What's been said about Wroclaw - lovely place, pretty historic centre, but not much going on.  +1 for Wroclaw + Krakow making for a good full week.

As an aside, my work have just opened offices in Krakow and Gdańsk, maybe I should try to go out to train the new employees, before I get made redundant by them 🤔

I've booked a week in Zakopane with family_oab for the summer - proper cool mountains with bears and wolves....!

Hire a car / get on a train and see some more of the country?

Only ever been to Wroclaw for work, but really like the place. Some fantastic veggie/vegan restaurants and a great craft beer scene. Also seems to be some history, which I'd like to explore in some more detail, but I think you'd struggle to get more than 3 or 4 days out of it.

Thanks all. We think a day in Auschwitz would work so might look at Krakow or Katowice.

We're happy sleeping a lot and chilling in Airbnb so don't need huge amounts of things to do also .
