My better half is thinking of getting a tablet for our oldest girl, as she uses ours more than she does. Any good but cheap (£100 or so) tablets about. Prob 7" or below. Anything spring out of the plethora of junk?

I thought the Archos 7 was OK when I played with it.

A Nexus 7 is a bit more than you are asking to spend, but a fine tablet.

Nexus 7 +1. Well worth the price difference. Buy crap, buy twice.

Got a nexus, which has caused all the issues! Great thing, which comes with me when working away. Will have a look at the arches.

"Buy crap, buy twice"
Indeed.

I bought a Sumvision Astro+ last year for bout £80. It does the job and I was quite pleased with it until ms panic came home a kindle fire hd...

The kindle (just like the nexus I'm sure) has much better battery life, stronger wireless reception and a far far superior screen.

I'm now thinking I need a Nexus of some sort 🙂

(on the other hand the Astro has a card slot, hdmi out and happily recognises usb sticks)
