Looking to head croyde/woolacombe area late June for a week.Need recommendations for half decent cheap campsites hopefully under 20 pounds per night. No hook up just small tent and car, also don't mind a five -15 minute drive to coast.Cheers 👍
Search 4 Sites website/app is very good for locating places.
Pitch Up ? I used Google maps when planning our road trip in August/September - picking camp sites near where we wanted.
As above, but I think you'll do well to get a campsite in that part of the world for under £20 a night. Camping is no longer cheap...
Pitch Up does give pricing on a map basis - pop in the dates, number of nights and it will show you the campsites by map. Very handy. If you zoom in you will also find sites that aren't on Pitch Up but you'll get the name and can search for them. Our summer road trip has been a mix of on-line booking and email/whatsapp and sending a bank payment, depending on the site.
Minimum has been £25 a night (for two of us). Where we are staying more than a couple of nights we've gone for hookup, so looking at £40 a night on average. Most expensive is £55 at Portmeirion but included in that is entry to the village on the arrival and departure days and access to the hotel pool - bargain when entry is £20pp.
Just stayed at Combas Farm, Putsborough. £16 per person. Short walk (5 minutes) to edge of Croyde. Its basically up a trail above The Manor House Inn. Putsborough and Croyde beaches are about 10~15 mins walk. Bonus it allows firepits, large pitches and immersed in nature then than main village sites.
