You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hello - My girlfirend and I currently have 70Mb virgin broadband only and have been hiked to £34/month...which is a bit of a rip off really. Looking for a much better deal. We only use two laptops in the house (small and near a telephone exchange - 80m away) and only really for browsing general websites (ebay, singletrack etc) and watching youtube & I.player. What are good recommendations around the £20ish mark per month ? and what would 17Mb be like ? bearing in mind we never really download anything.
Thanks
Yes it would be fine. Either Plusnet, or check your mobile or tv provider for bundle deals.
I have plusnet 17mb. can surf/browse sites mostly ok, but streaming stuff like iplayer fails a lot. very frustrating!
17mb should be fine. We have 2mb and can stream ok usually.
I'd love 17mb!
We're running 10mb via sky "fibre" it's a bit of a piss take as its no where near fibre speeds but it works bang on with two teenage data thiefs in th e house. We regularly stream he Netflix with zero problems.
17 should be plenty. Our plusnet is up to 34 quid though (that includes the line) so I'm on the lookout for a better deal.
Worth checking that you will really get 17Mb from the provider. I signed up for the Sky "up to 17Mb" deal, but the small print says I am only guaranteed 3Mb, and I actually get 6 or 7. Our town has officially been upgraded to fast broadband, but if you don't live close to the junction box that's just a myth.
25 was fine for 4 adults last time I had shared so 17 shouldn't be a problem.
