You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I have to drive to Mannheim on Monday and find my way to my mates house. And back a few weeks later. Other than that, I won't be doing any driving around Germany. Are there any half decent (i don't really mind klunky, if cheap) Euro Sat Nav apps for the iPhone out there that you might recommend? Cheers. Tom Tom at £60 is a bit expensive for what I need.
Or should I just print out a ViaMichelin one and do it that way?
Have a look at GPS Navigation 2. Works OK in the UK, not tried it in Europe though.
NavFree?
I think Euro maps for it are only a couple of quid

Thanks for suggestions chaps. Based on reviews (and using NavFree occasionally), I'm going to go with Hoff's suggestion - with Europe downloaded for a fiver - as I already had GPS N 2 on the phone anyway.
Thanks again. Just what STW is best at. 🙂
Can you do me a favour DD?
when you've downloaded the Europe map, can you see if the Canary Islands are on there?
I can indeed jota. Still on 3G at the moment but will be on WiFi and downloading in a bit so will check for you.
I use Navfree on my phone all the time, The europe part isn't downloaded like the UK maps are, so you need a wifi or data connection to obtain the routing, once you've done that the maps will guide you no problem! It does mean I end up sat outside McDonalds occasionally when in France! 😉
I have a Pioneer radio in the car which links the Navfree straight into the screen, it works brilliantly!

Doesn't appear to be a separate Canary Islands section jota. Unless they come in the Spain Section?
Thanks DD
I would have thought it was in the Spain map but can't find any confirmation
We used Navfree France and Italy for going from Nice airport into Italy - It did not recognise the direct motorway route along the coast - so be very careful! For a 40k route Navfree went into the mountains, came back down and crossed the motorway then went back into the mountains again. (and we did have the use toll roads option selected!)
I did not have GPS Navigation 2 but did have did have Forever Map from Skobbler (who market GPS2)which also had some pretty bizzare routes.
They were both useful at times but having said that our hire car was upgraded to one with an in-built satnav and had some odd ideas on routes.
I suppose with as with any SatNav - make sure you have a paper map and a good idea of the main direction you are meant to be taking.
jota, I'll download Spain as soon as the others are finished and let you know. Might take twenty minutes or so to get back to you.
