I started a new job a couple of weeks back but it was not what they described. Started on a Monday and I told them on the Thursday afternoon that I had an interview Friday morning. That was my final day at the company.

They had my P45 and bank details and said they would pay me for the 4 days I was there on their next pay run. This has been and gone.

I have an email from the company offering me the job with all the details and several from the recruitment agent, but I don't have anything else to prove I actually worked there.

I have sent an email reminder but have had no reply. Other than small claims court do I have any other options?

I got the other job which and I'm looking forward to starting next week.

Given its likely to be more of a problem - do you have a p45 for the new employer?

Oh and I'd not get too sabre rattling until the normal pay day for your brief employment has been and gone, i wouldn't expect paying outside of their usual payroll cycle.

Don't worry about the lack of a P45 for the new employer. You can complete a P46 instead, and HMRC will send them a coding notice within a few days.

You may need to mention a solicitor/small claims at this point if they act all coy. Most important that if you do this follow it up.

I've sent an email as I want to keep everything in writing, its only a small company, 15 people and I sent it to the owner who employed me.

New company knows I wasn't happy and understand. Going from 2017 Solidworks back to AutoCad LT 2010 was a shock and I took my P45 when I left the crap job.
