One of our kids received a Leap Frog Globe which came with a micro USB lead but no wall plug - if I was to use an Apple iPhone wall plug to power this will it explode or damage it? These are the details of the adaptor:
AC Adapter Electrical Ratings: Input: ~ 120VAC, 60Hz (for US); ~ 230VAC, 50Hz (for UK or EU); ~ 240VAC, 50Hz (for AS/NZL) Output: DC 5V, 1.5A, 7.5VA or DC 5V, 1A, 5V

It will be fine - the standard Apple wall plug is 5w which will be plenty (although googling Leapfrog Globe just comes back with battery powered options?).

Someone may well correct me, but as far as I'm aware if it has a USB plug on the wall socket end then you can use any USB charger going. Some are more powerful than others but the voltage will be 5V which is key - the device that is being charged will only take the current it needs. So doesn't matter if it's a 1W adapter or a 100W adapter, voltage will always be 5V and current just runs to what is needed - if it's 1A needed then a 1W will run at 1W (5V X 1A) and a 100W adapter will run at 1W as well.

speed12 is right. This is also why iPad adapters are worth keeping hold of if you have any, as they're pretty high powered for the size and will charge most things fast.
