I am sure I saw a changing robe thread here last week, I searched but nothing.
Kids want dryrobes (ie fluffy inside, waterproof outside) which would actually be a great idea as they trach the car post mtb otherwise.
However at 150 each its a bit mad, I am sure I saw a thread with options for 60-70 each??
Please link me to the thread, I can't find it.

Decathlon has towel ones like that Rapanui for £20-£25 (if there is any stock).

Ah yeah we have similar to those already, no 1 was has outgrown theirs, and I've been trying to push continued use, but no 2 has done well this term and is dead keen on one with an external waterproof cover.

I have a Tiki one in the camper its not waterproof but had it for years

Had a look at these recently and although waterproof couldn't see the advantage over what I've got.

They do adults and kids

Just bought a Frostfire Moonwrap - comes in different sizes so you don't get completely swamped. Bought it more for taking the dogs out for wee at night in the garden - Mrs DB loves it! Check reviews for some as they aren't roomy enough to actually get changed in!

Dryrobes are built like tanks and last forever. The OH is a great destroyer of clothes but the purple dryrobe survives intact!
In really cold weather they can go over the top of the Big Coat.
I would say spend the money but just get the size you think they'll be when they stop growing!
And get a bright colour, makes 'em easier to spot.

Seriously I got mine for using at the end of ultras when I would feel like death and need to change *all* my clothes - that was at least six years ago. Now hang out on cycling forums and moan about my knee but the dryrobe is still going strong and still is used all the time.

I've got the Decathlon one. It is fine for an adult, although might be a bit large for a kid - although saying that I am a short-arse and it works for me.

It's not waterproof or anything, so you won't be standing on Fistral beach watching your surf buddies in the pouring rain while drinking a soy latte, but as something to stick on for some discreet changing action in a car park after a ride, it's pretty good.

The Frostfire has a pile fleece lining rather than towelling on some

If you aren't fussed on waterproof, its easy* to make them with a couple of old towels and a sewing machine. The price of the waterproof ones does seem ridiculous, i fancied one for cyclocross till I saw the price

*or so I've heard; personally, not knowing how to use a sewing machine, i'd probably struggle.

We have a couple from a company called Booicore which we like, towel like material and come in adult and kids sizes in a range of colours. Has the front pocket and hood as well

A mates lad is in the GB national open water swimming programme. Dryrobe seems to be the preferred option looking at their social media buddies talking.

check out gorillarobes, we were after some for the kids open water swimming and Dryrobes were way over budget. These were 50 each and are absolutely spot on.

My only issue with dry robes and the Charlie Mcleod is the sheer amount of little bits of microplastic that come out of them.
my Charlie Mcleod was awful for it. So much so that I bought a smoc smoc as it has a bamboo towelling inner.
The gorilla robes look good though
