A new job beckons and with that I lose my trusty golf gtd so need to either lease or buy something (up to 2 years old). I like our GTD, its nippy, comfy, good size etc etc so plan to stick with a golf. I doubt the mileage that we do each year justifies a GTD, especially with the potential for DPF problems so I'm thinking on going back to petrol.
I'd be interested in understanding the real world cost of owning a gti vs R, cost of service, resale values etc as if there is not much in it I'll go for an R and if a significant difference, the GTi wins. Thoughts or experience appreciated.
