Changing motors this weekend, have a tow bar on the old one and need a tow bar on the new one. Is there any value in taking off the old tow bar would you say, and seeing if it could be fitted to the new car? Both cars are seats, one's a leon and one's an exeo.

I assume the bar itself is just a couple of bolts but not sure on the electrics?

Try seeing the prices and model numbers for the towbars before going to the hassle of stripping it out. use towequipe website for comparison

You could find out if it'll fit without taking it off.

My guess is its unlikley, but if you can be bothered if take it off and flog it seperately.

Check on Towsure or Witter's site for the reference numbers and see if they match.
Some are identical and others aren't even across the same model.

Didn't you factor that into the deal?

Or is it a company car - and if so, didn't you discuss with the supplying garage first?
