It's a trespass jacket. The material just says 109% polyester but it feels vaguely pertexy.
What's the best way of removing the chain oil please? Perhaps I should add it's been on a few years, but unwashed (& unwanted since my little faux pas).
I've since chained to using a wax 😀

I'd try rubbing washing up liquid in, leaving it then rinsing it (and maybe repeat). Seemed to work on the chainring marks on my stairs carpet (carrying up for winter turbo sessions!).

Swarfega? I have had success with Swarfega on a few items. Takes a while for the Swarfega aroma to go.
I’ve got chain oil out of stuff with isopropyl alcohol but it might also lift the coating.

Washing up liquid or pure soap. It's similar to fat and oil. Solvents will work but likely cause damage to the jacket.
There’s bound to be a first time but this always removes chain oil for me. (Don’t know what it does to pertex though)
Beware though they do dozens of them - it’s the “pre-wash” that I use, not the oil & grease one.
Soap (bar of, unperfumed, uncoloured) is surprisingly good as a pre-wash too.
Takes a while for the Swarfega aroma to go

Have had success with that Vanish roll on stuff
Fabulous.went for bicarb and washing up liquid. Not fairy as we buy ecover in bulk but it's pretty well gone.
