I see the Starmer thread has now been closed (binners will be upset as that's where he sends anyone who disagrees with him). Presumably the corporate advertisers don't like the views on there?

Is it just me or is this getting a bit pathetic? Fair enough if you want to ban any talk of politics or current affairs on here, just be open about it and consistent, and change the terms and conditions so that those of us who are that way inclined know exactly what we're allowed to talk about or not, then we can decide whether to stay or go to a more grownup forum.

Whilst you're at it, maybe have a think about whether you're contributing or not to the wider effort in politics and the media to silence anti-war and anti-war crimes sentiment. Are you part of the problem or the solution?

(wouldn't be surprised if this thread gets closed or deleted too)

-------

[Mod] thread reopened and please read the caveat.

I’ve got no issue with STW closing threads. I do however have an issue with no reason seemingly ever being given for doing so. No idea why a simple 1 liner isn’t used* as per any other forum I’ve ever used.

*oddly can remember this happening for threads to be cleaned up, but never when closed.

It's probably more to do with the same ten ****ers ruining yet another thread. Why can't you and the the other sad sacks start a What's App group and spare the rest of us your inane bollox?

Agree. I wondered about that on the Israel-Gaza thread. I don't tend to start threads on topics like that but it said someone could get a ban for doing so now. Why is it better to have further silence on what's happening there? Ban posters not topics.

If you don't like discussion of politics don't read a thread entitled 'Keir Starmer!'. Simple.

Yes please go find a proper forum for serious political discussion.

Or perhaps you can exercise your right to not open political threads? You have all the power you need to consume the type of content you prefer.

If you want to vent your furious indignation  about Palestine, I’ve been led to believe there’s something called X, apparently it used to be called Twitter. That’s usually the place for that kind of thing

What tyres for virtue-signalling?

I got a warning last night for a sarcastic post that was then removed. I thought that was excessive given that there are people who are offensive, constantly troll, ruin threads and certain people think they own every politics thread.  However it will take a binding resolution from the UN to get them to behave.

I don't mind being told off if I'm being an arse but it just seems so arbitrary and made up on the spot.
