Starts tonight at 9pm.

I’m quite looking forward to this, it’s been quite good viewing on the normal version.

Surely they are going to give the ever effervescent Claire Balding the tap on the shoulder?

I had thought that Bob Mortimer was in it but seemingly not.

I'd watch it if Robbie Rotten Claire Balding wasn't in it. I am not sure I could bear it with her in it. However, if Bob Mortimer *had* been in it, I'd put up with her so I could watch him.

Edit: I have just seen who is in it – Alan Carr. Forget it, he's even more annoying than Claire Balding so there's no way I could watch it.

Looking forward to it too - and I even know all but-two of the celebs! Which is rare for a 'celeb' TV programme now. 🙂

Will playing the game mean that their professional personas slip? Will we then get to see the real people?

That's the interesting thing for me.

Much better than I thought it would be. I thought having famous people would ruin it, but the celebs are very funny & seem to be much better at the tasks and acting as a team than the general public have been in the main series. (So far anyway)

The wife spotted a major balls-up at the start. Supposedly they went straight to the graves before entering the castle and did all that digging - then as they were driving back to the castle they were all spotlessly clean!

not a mucky hand or dirty white dress in sight!

Just as trail centre runs all start off with a "qualifier" so you can tell straight away "this isn't for me", so did the first episode.

This isn't for me.

I thought the first episode was entertaining but think that two of the participants picked to be traitors are too high profile. Probably chosen for engagement but will hog air time from the more interesting, lesser known celebs.
My early favourite is Charlotte Church - a bit gobby but seems like a nice, genuine person.

Okay, so I watched it despite what I said yesterday (my wife and one of our daughters sat down to watch it so I thought I'd join them for some rare family time together). I didn't mind it actually – Claire Balding and Alan Carr didn't grate as much I expected them to. I am sure Stephen Fry is going to be my highlight though – he's probably more intelligent than the rest of them put together.

Really enjoyed the first one. A pretty good bunch to be honest, and I know most of them which makes a pleasant change for "celebrity" shows. Be interesting to see who Alan Carr marks. My guess? Paloma Faith.

Nick Mohammed is obviously pretty bright as well. Fry is coming across as a bit pompous (who knew!) but there doesn’t seem to be anyone I can’t stand.

Never seen Traitors before but thought we'd give this a go.

Strong line-up. Apparently the way to get actual celebrities is to not ask them to dance or eat insects.

You can never separate the acting or playing up for the camera and the real deal, but I thought AC was genuinely stumped about how to behave now.  When he said he’d pole vaulted over the radar, made me chuckle.  Claire Balding will have to deal with that lever pull for a while, what a team leader! 🤣

Or not, as the case may be. I think she is probably doomed & will be ejected at the first opportunity.

No spoilers on the important stuff, but Celia Imrie's fart may be the TV moment of the year. Punctured the tension building hype perfectly.

I hate to say it, but I'm enjoying it. No interest in a non-celeb version though.

Hahaha, yes that was quite funny. Claudia was trying to ramp up the jeopardy and fear of the task only for all her hard work to be undermined by a dainty little trumpet.  Ruth is doing well, and I enjoyed the pile-on on JR over his alliance. I reckon he’s next to go and I wouldn’t be surprised if the other two did throw him under the bus.

I think Alan is going to have an accident in that hood,he never looks like he  can see where he's going. 🤣 🤣

Now waiting on Wossie's quadruple bluff choice for the next murder . 😜

I think JR will go next - Ruth was ruthless yesterday and he's going to tie himself in knots/protest too much. He's become a liability to the other two.

I had no idea who Ruth was before the show, but having read up on her background,  wow, what an amazing character.

Enjoying this far more than i expected, having no interest and therefore never seen the non celeb version. All of the characters really work well together and, bar a couple of the younger ones i've heard of (and quite like) most of the others. I really want there to be a plot twist, something along the lines of a second (pre-determined) group of traitors already in the camp.

The two Joe's are developing in to a force to be reckoned with as well....

Oh and plot twist, if the traitors get chance to, i think they will recruit Ruth. Watch her squirm back tracking her suspicion of JR.

I expect they will only recruit when one of the three has been picked off. Unless AC’s stumbling sweating demeanour isn’t noticed, it’s surely JR now next.

On that, I did wonder if JR had an ego of such a size that he may have required that a condition on entering was that he was a traitor.  To get rumbled so early would be poetic justice!

Nice work by JR to deflect attention to Claire - she was the main danger having already pointed the finger at JR and Alan.

After these first four episodes my money is on Joe Marler to win.

Nobody has mention Lucy B yet, as far as I can see (hear). It’s bizarre how some people just fly under the radar without even trying (unless they are).

I think, surely, JR is out on the next round table.

Just watched episode 4. It is amazing how so many intelligent people can get it so wrong. They seem to be even worse at Traitor spotting than the general public. It's even more frustrating when they appear to be on the right track, only to change their minds and go off on a tangent. It is quite spectacular how a bit of charisma will get you through a round table.

You really don't understand it, do you?

I can tolerate it more than the civilian version because they are not all trying to establish how smart they are, how important they are, and, in some cases, how clairvoyant they are.

Can someone explain why JR only got 1 vote in the last voting round?

Ruth was murdered after strongly accusing JR, plus his denial of mentioning an "alliance" against the word of two others. In addition, his defence was extremely suspicious, essentially giving the actual reason he used for killing Ruth as his justification for innocence. I don't believe an actual faithful would give a defence like that, they would focus more of the fact they'd been set up rather than putting themselves in the shoes of the traitor.

Way more evidence pointing against him than anyone else, yet Clare got voted out without really any good reason.

Joe Marles has clocked it and is frustrated that he's somehow not speaking articulately or confidently enough because people don't seem to be listening!

I guess that nobody that it could be JR as murdering Ruth is too obvious a reaction to her accusations of him.It does however also seem to be playing out in a way that will maximise viewer engagement which the cynical could take as evidence of shenanigans although, against that, getting rid of Niko was not good for younger viewer engagement which is probably top of the producers list so I am willing to take it at face value.

I am glad that Clare Balding has gone as I have always found her tedious in the extreme.

Surprised no one has commented yet - but what a great final episode.

I feared they'd spoil it somehow, but the emotion of the winner at the end couldn't be faked.

Great TV and I'm sure other celebs will be falling over themselves to be in the next series. Just goes to show you don't have to make fools of people (looking at you Jungle) to make engaging TV.

Brilliant final episode including the mission on the train. Did not go the way we expected and it made for great TV. Alan fluffing his 'I am a faithful' in the previous episode was gold so genuinely thought after that it was going to be an obvious conclusion

It was a much better series then I thought it would be, maybe because they had to play as everyone else had previously and not because of their status. I thought Alan would have messed up very quickly but somehow he managed to hide it well. His emotions of winning and having to be so dishonest throughout genuinely got to him. Nick messed up, he stopped trusting his instincts and got swayed.

Yep, great final.  I was on hols for the previous two episodes but caught them on catch up when I got home.

It did seem that the winner was genuinely relived/distraught with how they’d had to deceive.

It would be quite an interesting experiment to put them all back in and play it again, obviously choosing a different set of traitors, or maybe not. I wonder if there would be a hugely different approach, and people realising that they really cannot trust anyone.

Train challenge was good, the highlight was the box lid falling, and again, and again….

Great watch.
Joe M was totally the star of the show - funny and smart, gutted he didn't get to the last 4 seeing as he had it cracked.
It's a shame Nick and David where simply useless and just didn't have a clue ..... even when Alan explained why Joe had said "sorry" to Cat Nick didn't get it 🤦‍♂️

Yeah, another here that really enjoyed it – even more so because it had the whole family sat watching something together (doesn't happen often with two 16 year old girls). I think it is one format that perhaps works better *because* they are celebrities – we all think we know these people, so we had preconceptions about how they'd behave.

Gutted for Joe – ineptitude from others meant he didn't win!

And, contrary to what I originally said way back at the beginning of this thread, I quite liked Alan Carr by the end.

I wasn't so keen on Cat (there wasn't much personality shining through) but, given her ADHD, it must have been mentally and physically tough for her being in that sort of environment for so long.

The other thing to remember is that the editing is brilliant. That’s what made it seem like such a shocker when Nick nominated Joe. I suspect that in reality he had been considering whether he was being played for much longer.

Watched this a while back and it certainly made me warm to him.

Thought Traitors was excellent telly. Far, far, far preferred it to the non-celeb versions which is odd as usually the celeb version of any reality TV is garbage. Thought the cast was superbly picked as well - all wholly likeable people on the face of it.

We were all rooting for Alan, he was a deserving winner. Amongst the bumbling he made some very astute moves, for example saying Joe looked shady (and more like a traitor) for changing his vote from David to Cat. In the business world I call these types smiling assassins. My only concern is he appears to have a taste for it now, and will kill again.

The US version has "celebrities" too but they tend to be people from other reality shows rather than A/B list celebs. And the US winners keep the cash, no charity involved there. Neither of those things make it particularly entertaining.

Also in the non celeb versions some people have kept some quite big things hidden about their real life which the UK celebs couldn't do so much.

And Nick's F bomb at the end must rank as one of the best swears of the year.

Met Joe, yesterday morning and he'd make a good poker player! Gave nothing away.

He seems like a decent guy, had some issues but hopefully in a better place now.
Only watch the final because I'd met him, can't stand TV like this..

I dipped in and out, found it ok but quite tedious in places. I've never watched the normo's version, but I find Claudia Winklepicker pretty annoying. Ok, vote count..... I'M NOT ****ING STUPID!!!!

The train bit was funny when the lid kept falling on JM's head but the fact it was going really slowly, the contrived explosion and runing for safety was a bit much.

I imagine that the norm's version is a bit less lovey, but I can't see myself watching it. It'd piss me off and blood pressure would suffer....

I  really don’t think it would be all that interesting notwithstanding that a lot of the fun is seeing the Traitors at work. For a start as a viewer you would be totally in the hands of the editing, they could probably produce footish which would ‘incriminate’ anyone they chose. But beyond that, it would just be immensely confusing. The evidence you would need to pass judgement just isn’t there. In reality the show isn’t about what it purports to be. It is isn’t actually about spotting traitors (at least not until the very final stages) it’s about how trust is formed, the way in which narratives are accepted by the majority & the way in which people network. It’s a game of survival and not being selected as a target. The point of the game is that it is almost impossible to spot a traitor (unless they make a particularly egregious error) otherwise how could Alan Carr win? As a viewer you would essentially just be guessing, even more than the participants do, so I don’t think it would be much fun at all.

just watched the last two episodes of series 3 and i can only repeat how brutal it is.  £100k up for grabs, you do nothing wrong, get to the final, youre not a traitor, but just cos someone else isnt 100% sure of you thats it, away you go with nothing.  and yes, when theyre told later they cant believe it and theyre sorry they voted you out, but they still wont give you a share will they, thats the game 😀

compelling viewing, we feel drained after each episode.

There’s a lot of luck involved.

I was late to the party with this, and was a bit of a sceptic beforehand if I'm honest.  We binged it over the last few days, finishing last night.  Fortunately without finding out who won. I've never seen the other series and don't generally like or watch "reality TV".  To my great surprise I really enjoyed it.  It was great watching it with Mrs Bloke, as there are very few TV shows we both like and can enjoy together.

It was a great mix of people. Joe Marler, Ruth Codd and Alan Carr were the standouts for me.  I pretty much warmed to all of them though, even Jonathan Ross (to a degree) who I used to think was a right tosser.  I think in that setting they can't really keep their showbiz persona up all of the time, so you get to see more of their real personalities.  Great TV

We were out Thursday and Friday so only caught up last night.

Very entertaining, it was also worth watching the Uncloaked episode where the other players see the outcome live.

As a few have said above ,I did try to watch the Alan Cumming celeb one as I like his style, but agree it was utter garbage.

I think they really got lucky with the UK celebs that they picked ( and some slick editing),will be hard to repeat.

I think that's a big risk. Though I can think of a few people I'd like to see do it
