Gonna be tricky - worked part time nights for 7 years - very part time recently. Full time days with a 7.30 start 6 miles cycle away will hurt

2nd in charge?

Not for long

It one of the hardest things I have ever had to face. I spent 20 years in pursuit of running my own dementia unit. I finally got there and I hated it and I was crap at it. The peter principle ( google it)

My natural level is second in charge. Thats what I do well. Someone else can set the policy and act as final arbiter. I can implement and support - thats what I am good at.

Its a harsh lesson to learn but now I have the opportunity with a role that is perfect for me. I know the boss - someone I can work with and who is strong enough not to be threatened by me and will give me clear direction.

I am nervous, excited, scared, exhilarated - and full of bubbly hence the post.

Ta folks.

How did you know about the job - was it 'advertised' somewhere that you had become aware of via 'marketing'? 😉

Well done and good luck!

Nice one TJ

If you ever get your own dementia unit, please say "D-Unit!" at some point.

BTW I've been a careworker for over 5 years, it's a friendly joke not a nasty poke 😀

I have 7.30-3 or 2.30-10, I feel your pain.
