I am always on the lookout for new stuff to listen to so can anyone recommend any CD's that fulfill the following criteria:

1/ It must be available on CD - don't do downloads
2/ It must be reasonably obscure.
3/ Genre is not important but it must be a good listen
4/ It must be produced and recorded to the very highest standards

I'll kick things off with the following recommendations

Gonjasufi - A Sufi and a Killer
Taj Mahal & Toumani Diabate - Kulanjan
Dr Octagon - Dr Octagonolygist
John Downland - In Darkness Let Me Dwell
Alison Krauss and the Union Station - Lonely Runs Both Ways
Seaman Dan - Steady Steady
Harlem in Vogue - The Poetry and Jazz of Langston Hughes

Excellent - great stuff. Keep 'em coming.

Have ordered 'Clogs - Lantern' just because its the first one that I looked up on Amazon.

I should also add the first Moloko album to the list - Do You Like My Tight Sweater. Utterly different to the stuff that made the charts they did later on.

Not sure if it has had a UK release yet, but Asaf Avidan's album is a blinder.

...and I don't usually like that sort of thing.

Edit: Yes it has.
