I installed an outside CCTV camera a couple of months ago, fairly soon after installing it there was a regular spiders web over the lens, this has caused it to be triggered constantly at night and it records solidly for all hours of darkness and no amount of adjusting the settings can overcome the effect of having a new web every night over the lens. It has since been moved to get a better coverage of the drive and front of the house and soon after was plagued by spiders webs.
To add insult to injury someone then came into the garden, emptied the clothes line of all the nice clothes and attempted to break into the garage. All that can be seen of the ****er is his legs due to a big f*&k-off spiders web.
So I checked under the eaves for signs of spiders and moved the camera to what appeared as a spider free zone. Lo and behold two nights later and incey wincey is back with a nice big web over the lens.
Has anyone else had similar problems, if so could the infra-red light / night sensor be the cause.
The whole idea of having a CCTV over the access to the house is being screwed by the camera recording all night and having all images partly or wholly obscured.

Several essential oils repel spiders, as do citrus oils. You'll probably have to spray the camera housing once in a while, so only a minor inconvenience.
Does it have night vision infra red LEDs? Try turning them off.
However, my reversing camera on the van always had a web and that only turns on when in motion...

As she obviously had a big issue with spiders getting in that bowl, I felt no need to say any more about it.
At this time of years Mrs CD spreads conkers across the front door threshold. Great if it makes her feel better but I doubt spiders use the front door to enter the house 😆
