Can/Should you?

I was referred to a group CBT session via my doctor, but it only happens during office hours and I don't want to have "that" conversation with the work (and lets face it, likely to be cancelled for some time now)

Is it worth trying a book or online course instead?

saw this, worth the fiver?  https://www.amazon.co.uk/CBT-Handbook-Comprehensive-Depression-Self-Esteem/dp/1780332017/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2992HX35OUVY&dchild=1&keywords=cbt+books&qid=1584453473&sprefix=cbt%2Ccomputers%2C160&sr=8-4

I was recommended the "Overcoming... " series by my counselor (well, thankfully just the one of the series!) It was in addition to the one-to-one, but didn't need the book in the end. Worth a purchase, but of course, it's nowhere near as personal. Book you've linked may be even more general?

As for not wanting "that conversation" with work, I didn't either, but I did tell my boss later that that's why I was out on Mondays... Workplaces are much more supportive these days, but I know what you mean. You're not out all day, so can't you invent another reason?

Three books that stand out in my collection:

Mark Manson - the subtle art of not giving a f*ck

Matthew Walker - why we sleep

David A Carbonell - the worry trick

But, better than all of these, practise the techniques and be conscious of your thought patterns daily.
