Is this where we are all hanging out today?! I'd been looking forward to a few quieter weeks but my training plan has had more hours added to it when i wasn't looking, up to 11 hours or so now! 😯 Mustard is hobbling around after the crash and will probably have sold a kidney by the time i get home to replace all the broken bits on his bike. 😕

65mins for my 38km TT on Sunday, poor effort, i felt rubbish whenever i tried to go faster...does anyone really enjoy TTs?!

Yes Dirty, this is a thinly veiled excuse to start a thread about nothing.

Is there a race crash insurance you/he can get? Saw your TT result, was that the 2 up one?

AS far as I can see all Edukator needs to say is that iDiet may well work for some fatties and you'll be happy, right?

Calling people names, is not arguing BTW, it makes his attitude look exemplary.

Blah, Blah.

What Ed needed to post.
He already has done.
Here:

If I don't reply it could be that I recognise the value of the research you quote but consider it a minor factor that might concern some people but isn't worth worrying about for the vast majority of people,

I have Found the Lord himself, right here ^^^.
Ed will decide for us, whats worth knowing and whats not !.
Regardless of research, etc.

Can you quote the whole of that post of his please? Or at least tell me where it is. Even in the snippet you've provided you're extracting the wrong meaning... IMO etc etc.

If I don't reply it could be that I recognise the value of the research you quote but consider it a minor factor that might concern some people but isn't worth worrying about for the vast majority of people, Solo. For almost every food you can find research to indicate there are negatives. You didn't reply to link I posted about the negatives of a high protein diet, I'm not insulted. Look at the amount of insult and provocation thrown at me on this thread (now that's trolling not posting opinions) I don't do page long Junkyard style disecting defences

Arrogance, combined with a monumental degree of not wanting to learn.
Its a winning combo.

No don't think so; however it could have been worse if he'd broken his new carbon wheels! That's the 2nd saddle and shifter he's broken in 3 weeks!

Yeh was the 2up one. My partner had on tri bars and it made a huge difference to her speed compared to mine on the drops. She really hurt me coming through faster and my legs just weren't feeling it. Felt great the next day during race number 2 though.

Who is this person, and why can't they ride their bike ?.

Solo - you're completely misquoting him. Why don't you just accept his opinion and that he is right about diet for a large number of people. He is conceding that the research you quote is also relevant to some.

TSY.

No, you're missing the point.
Ed dismissed the info as it didn't comply with his indesputable truth and knowledge.

And I would raise the same point, again.
What do a couple of Cardio heads know about controlling body weight through diet ?.
When you're activity levels are way over that of most people and so therefore mitigate what I consider to be poor food choices.

Furthermore....
Can anyone explain to me, Wiggins being on record as avoiding grains in his prep for the Tour !.

EDIT:
And I'm still waiting for Ed's verdict on what Mr Kristiansen is feeding Team Sky, as per the link at the begining of this thread ! !.

I recognise the value of the research you quote

Is that how we dismiss something nowadays?

Have you got a link to the Wiggins thing? Was it a time of crash weight loss? Like the 'attack' phase of the Atkins or Dukan diets? Did he continue not eating grains? I'm interested as I'm always open to modifying things.
I was shocked that Cav said riders were eating pasta for breakfast.

Out of interest... how can you dismiss my view because of the amount of exercise I do, reference to athletes doing far more, and also accuse others of dismissing research that you think is valid?

Now, that really is miss-quoting.
😉

Fortunately, the entire post is there for those, with brains.
😀

Have you got a link
Yeah, sure.
You just sit there.
I'll go do all the work for you.
Then I'll pop round later to wipe your ass too.
OK ?.
😉

I was shocked
No you weren't.
Its not shocking, is it.
Troll.

I was shocked that Cav said riders were eating pasta for breakfast.
Was that last year or this year.
You know ?.
Some people are smart enough to learn, even change their ideas about diet and training.

Out of interest... how can you dismiss my view because of the amount of exercise I do
You are telling me, you can't see.
That if you move about at an extra ordinary level of activity.
You might mitigate eating foods that would otherwise result in excessive body weight gain, in people who do not exercise to the same degree as you do ?.
TSY, even by your standards, thats a Troll-tastic statement.

and also accuse others of dismissing research that you think is valid?
Valid for who ?.
For people who go open water swimming ?.
People who are within the <5 percent of gym members who have such high rates of gym attendance ?.
People who are in the gym at 6am ?.
People who only work 8 hours a day.
People who are 50 something, retired and have nothing better to do than run up and down a few hills ?.
People who are career focused and office bound ?.

😀

Some people post shit, other people don't give a shit about their shit, another group of people say they don't give a shit about their shit but actually do, in the end it's all just the same shit in a different bucket - or words to that effect

Hmmm, we'll have to agree to disagree on what the meaning of Edukator's post is. Maybe the way I write isn't clear enough, but I feel you struggle to understand the meaning in a lot of what others write.

FWIW, I'm deskbound, career focused and sat in a chair for >8 hours a day.

And just so you know... putting a smiley after you've written something offensive doesn't make you sound any less of a dick 😆

Yes, I realized quite some time ago, that you consider me to be completely stupid and without a brain.
Its not news here.
😉

FWIW, I'm deskbound, career focused and sat in a chair for >8 hours a day.
Yeah, and you also exercise before work, at lunchtime and the evening.

Just like the rest of us.....Oh, hang on...

And just so you know... putting a smiley after you've written something offensive doesn't make you sound any less of a dick

Aw...
All you can do now is be rude.
Tut, tut.

And when you post, trying to be clever.
What does that make you look like ?.
Especially as you think people haven't spotted what you're doing.
Thats really amusing.

AS far as I can see all Edukator needs to say is that iDiet may well work for some fatties and you'll be happy, right?

I would like him to acknowledge the fact that other people MAY know more than he does.

A better way to enter such unwinnable arguments is something like 'that seems rather strange to me' or 'I'm sceptical' - asking for more information would be even better.

I didn't say he was an idiot by the way, I called him an idiot (or whatever the epithet was, I forget). Because assuming you know better than total strangers is a bit silly, isn't it? Especially when you don't appear to have even read the original thesis which he didn't appear to have done.

What I would like is for him to say 'ok sorry for coming over as a bit confrontational, I only wanted to share my experiences' or something like that. Then I would be perfectly happy.

I'm not really interested in getting all worked up about diet (at least I try not to) because I'm not an expert in this particular area, and I try to acknowledge this at all times.

I'm sorry Solo, what are you on about?

I don't think you're stupid Solo, I suppose the fact that you think I do is another sign that you struggle to extract the true meaning behind what others write.

To help you out... I said you were sounding like a dick... implying people don't have a brain etc, your latest post doesn't make you sound any less like a dick. You may infact be a really nice guy... but that's not coming across at the moment.

Yes you do.
Thats been more than made obvious in the time that we've exchanged words here, on STW.
The times you've rocked up to me and posted something just for a reaction.
Indicates that you do this on purpose.
That you view me as someone to play with, to amuse you.

You may infact be a really nice guy... but that's not coming across at the moment.
Like you'd care either way.

Also, I agree with a lot of what Molgrips has posted, although he'll probably flame me for doing so.

It doesn't matter.
None of it matters

EDIT:
Oh, btw. I appear to have made a mistake....

Earlier I referred to the link at the begining of this thread.
I was infact referring to another thread I was active on at the same time as the first page of this thread.

It was a thread which linked to the Twitter page of Mr Kristiansen.
Chef to Team Sky.
His page lists some of the items he's been cooking up for Team Sky as they contend the Giro.

I trust that someone more techno savy than me can post a link to Mr Kristainsen's twitter page, thing.

Solo - seriously now... are you ok?

FWIW - I think you're placing too greater importance on yourself, I enjoy chatting with you on here (when you're not being offensive) I just wish you would be more forthcoming with your own views on diet etc... we're not here waiting to pounce or attack... well I'm not. I'm here with open ears...

Completely wrong.
If you knew me, you'd know how wrong that statement was.

I just wish you would be more forthcoming with your own views on diet etc...
After reading that, I'm suspecting now, that you just can't help yourself.
🙁

I have tried to share my thoughts on this.
For those who read, I would hope that they have seen me ask many questions.
What does this tell people ?.

I would hope it tells them that I am not an authority on diet or training.

So, just to be clear.
And just in case anyone thinks I'm an expert on this stuff.

I am not an authourity or expert on this subject matter.

I've asked you many times what the definitive text on the Paleo lifestyle is?

You've never answered. You've told me to go and search for it etc.

I'll go and buy the bloody thing! Not so I can rubbish it, or undermine you, but because I'm interested! Just like I read the Ducan diet this weekend.

wow 😯

how sad, how very sad. allow me to bring this all back on track with an erotic story:

well i had terrible lunch yesterday and my weigh in this morning was lower than the day before, seeing as its only people who have lost weight through dieting who are allowed to present their unqualified opinions i can safely conclude that eating all-day-breakfast triple decker sandwiches from tescos and jam donuts, plus a bag of sweets for lunch is a good thing.

you're move science!

the problem with being so god damn muscley and fat free is when i walk into a wall it actually hurts, my protective layer of flab is now only protecting my belly and sides, what happens when i go flying off my bike now?

i've left myself open for more injuries, how short sighted. time to crack open another 55p bag of 5 donuts.

Your muscles should be getting in the way of any injuries!

I put on the bib cycling shorts I used to wear for Spin classes at lunchtime... baggy lycra... eurrghh.

Just been out to get a tub of broken biscuits to sort the situation out.
