..the waste? used litter?

my local council tip says "no cat litter with faeces" so presumably they're "happy" to take it soiled but without faeces i.e just the urine.

so what do you do with the faeces? bag 'em up & put them in the local dog-poo bin? or flush them down the toilet?

and can you then bag up the rest of the soiled litter in the regular household waste? once it's left the house of course

Poo goes in the loo, and litter gets wrapped in newspaper and goes in the normal rubbish.

Shit and piss gets flushed (the latter forms firm clumps in the stuff we use) and every so often the trayfull gets dumped in bin or compost heap depending on state of the latter. That's quite rare actually as the litter doesn't smell much and is in a remote part of the house.

Poop down the loo - soiled litter in bin bags. Currently one cat comes in for the loo depending on weather, and one house cat (a rescue that has cat flu).  May be getting two more cats (pedigrees) that will be house cats too (after vaccination). We have a cat 'run' for the indoor cat, so he can go out but not out of the run.

For an indoor cat, A mix of the worlds best cat litter with something cheaper.    Flush the poo.     Bag and bin the pee clumps.

No smell.    easy peasy.

I prefer an outside cat tho!!

he's a very old cat, on his last legs, so outside is not an option. not that it ever was, we've had him 11 years (from age about 8) and he's never shown any interest in outside.

just checking that what I'm doing with the litter is the norm

Dry the bits, use them to make jewellery, coffee, all sorts of artisanal toss. Sell it to hipsters as Feline Soul, man...

See also throw it in the woodburner, use it to start the Weber etc...

Random blindfold catshit catapult night? I'll bring nibbles. And latex gloves.

The cat crap goes in the dog, the litter goes in the black bin.

Crap in the dog poo bin and the litter as its woodchip on the compost heap.

Must have been done before???

I thought you would use the remaining litter as road grit, come winter?

Don't flush cat shit - Toxoplasma gondii. Stick it in the bin.

In the normal bin - I use that clay stuff so feel a bit guilty because it seems I am producing huge amounts of waste, but then the clay is strip mined from the USA anyway I think so it is an environmental disaster.

Tried the maize based stuff, wood pellets and prefer the clay based one - it is pricy but actually lasts quite a long time.

Why can't it go in the bin? Land fill? I guess different councils have different rules.

I used to use wood pellets but recently started using morrisons self clumping litter.

Don’t flush cat shit – Toxoplasma gondii. Stick it in the bin.

It will get broken down with all the other bacteria in the sewerage....

I work as a council refuse collector ( Lincolnshire) the correct place is your landfill bin , poo and all , Actualy doesn't  to go to landfill anymore  gets incinerated . We do get it put in the recycling bins though , particularly the wood pellet  stuff
