My girlfriend's cats are getting bullied by another cat.
It fights them in the garden and even comes in the house and eats their food, fights them in there too! If the windows are shut it bangs on them and makes this insane sound that sounds like a baby on fire.
It's stressed one of her cats out so much it's got bladder problems which is bad for it (male cat) and means stress and vet bills for my lass.
We tried a big supersoaker. You can squirt it right in the face repeatedly and it doesn't care. Even tried lemon juice in the water gun. I've chucked a full pail of water over it to no effect. It's some kind of demon!
Any ideas? I don't want to hurt it or anything. I've heard about lion poo etc, but that would stop her cats going out too? Maybe some kind of bear spray or teargas!

Firstly get a cat flap that is chip activated. Keeping the bullies out of your house gives your cat sanctuary and territory it can own.
Next own the other cats with bombers. You can try sonic deterrent boxes but they will affect your cat as well and in my experience don’t work.
Feed it, build up a rapport, then hoof it over the fence
Put it in the car, drive to the dodgiest estate you can think of, mibbe 30 miles away, let it oot. See how hard it is then.

Can you set the catflap to let this cat in but not back out, then stick it in a box and either take it to a cat rescue place or for a long drive into the countryside?

We did something similar (on advice from our vet after repeated visits having ours treated following full on fights, not just hissing matches).
We've had this with a scruffy black cat that scared our younger cat so much that she used to crap herself when it appeared. It's all about territory and mousing rights. Short of finding a way to get rid of the invader I don't know what can be done.

Seek out a bad tempered staffie or basset hound as a new pet? You may end up with a dog problem but the cat problem wouldn't be long for this world.

You need to try and find out if it's owned or a stray, does it look scruffy and does it have a collar? Some rescues would come out and scan for a chip or/and you could try to get a paper collar on it asking "do I have a home? If yes please call 07*******.
And definitely get a Sureflap microchip catflap, if their safe space had been compromised It will certainly stress them.

If the window is double glazed you could consider replacing the pane with a new one with a gap for a cat flap and then fit one. would cost a few hundred but maybe cheaper on the long run then vets bills.

Fitting a catflap - and a microchip scanning one at that - is the simplest and best solution. We were in the same boat recently so I fitted a replacement Sureflap, problem solved. My eldest cat was struggling with stress-related wazzing which has now fortunately cleared up.

It means their safe space is secure so they won't feel constantly threated either by the 'enemy' cats presence or scent. Please don't go relocating it disposing of someone else's pet, if you really are recommending this you're a genuinely shitty human being.

Mr Guitar-Hero. In the garden. With a sledgehammer... erm, I don't know what discussing it with the owner would achieve unless she's willing to lock the cat in the house. I guess potentially if it's an un-neutered tom and that's part of the problem, you could offer to contribute to the cost of having its balls snipped, but that's not a guaranteed solution anyway.
What you do have control of is the option to fit a chip-operated cat-flap and I'd agree with those suggesting it as the first thing to try. It sounds like a brute of a cat, I super-soaked the neighbour's mog a few times and it now legs it at the slightest hint of my approach.
There are various plans for sentry guns (youtube is a good starting point). Usually for nerf guns. Stopping it targeting your cat may be possible with rfids. More hassle than a cat flap but much more entertaining.

I* think it'd help hugely. If they are reliant on having a window opened to let them in, presumably they are stuck outside getting battered by the Megatom for some time. Clever catflap gives them an escape route at least.

How the hell is it getting in then, osmosis? Has she just got the window wide open unattended all day? If so you're lucky it's only cats coming in and not someone relieving you of your telly (and an obvious solution presents itself).

If no-one owns it, many vets will do this for free I believe. It's far preferable to putting down two dozen unwanted kittens.
catlflap requires a clever cat, mine could either never work them out of prefers to show her superiority at being able to command us to open doors and windows for her all hours of the day and night.

Our cat was bullied for months by the neighbour's larger male, bites, scratches vets bills, antibiotics, the lot. We could only let our cat out if the other wasn't around but it often appeared and the attacks continued, resulting in more injuries, the cone of shame and big vets bills. Eventually bought a catapult and as soon as the evil b'stard appeared over the fence, it got pelted with small stones regardless of whether or not our cat was in or out. It soon learned our garden was no longer safe and the attacks eased off. I'm not proud but it worked.

PS We have 5 indoor cats - one was outdoor, but she is partially sighted and old now. We have a rescue male, and 3 pedigrees - one male, and 2 female. The rescue male got very grumpy with the other cats when a neighbour moved in with a cat that came into our garden (we have an enclosed cat run), but he's settled down now.

Broadly the same here. I cut through a plain uPVC panel on the kitchen door and fitted a cat flap in minutes (after about a month's worth of prior angst that I was going to bugger up the door).
Prior to the relatively short-lived Charlie The Rescue Lunatic for whom I installed the flap, I had a cat who lived to the ripe old age of 18 (and destroyed me when she couldn't any more, the furry little bastard). We, and later I, managed her movements for nearly two decades by opening the door when she miaowed.
If all this 👆👆 is nonviable, could she perhaps turn them into house-cats and not let them out? Easier with younger cats though, they're generally creatures of habit.
Get one of those Feliway diffusers - I thought it was snake oil but tried it, seemed to help my cat.
My cat is 17 now, and after a lifetime of being the Top Cat in the neighbourhood, it appears the worm has turned, I even found the bitey ginger f****r in the kitchen scoffing her food, gave it a good soaking.
She seems to have taken well to indoor life, but it is very cold and windy so I will have to deal with other cat somehow in the spring!
Catch the bullying tomcat, bring it to the zoo and feed it to the lions. Problem solved!

Marvin used to be one of the greatest killing machines on Earth - would bring in 3 or 4 screaming rabbits every night, crunch their skulls in the hall, eat the entire body excluding the face, a paw and an ear which he would leave out in a wee pattern on the rug. Just all these faces and paws lined up for you in the morning. Bless.
Neither cutting through a upvc panel, core drilling through a wall or having a double glazed panel with a hole in it made are going to cost a fortune, solution right there but you seem to have rejected out of hand without consideration.
No I haven't. If it was up to me it would have been done already, but it's my girlfriend's house and she is reluctant for a variety of reasons.
It's only a very minor part of the problem anyway. The other cat doesn't really get in very often - but it has happened once or twice. The main issue is that it has taken over the garden and made it it's territory.

Difficult one, our two cats are pretty confident being units of around 7kg each, but a younger female cat of considerable size has started prowling round the garden. Both of our cats will fight and chase her off, but she still keeps coming round. I suspect that a truce will break out when the weather gets warmer and they're least inclined to waste energy fighting.
My own solution would be along the lines, of "go to cat rescue, find the largest feline that you can, bring it home" type of thing. But that doesn't really help.
Got a new full height DG unit made up with a vent hole/cat flap hole for about £70 at a local glass merchant, swapped it and installed sureflap (around £80).
Other glazing firms wanted ~£200 just for the unit.
Keep the old unit to swap back if selling house though.
7kg cat.Blimey. Our old tubby tortie was about 5-6kg at most, she's not that big now. Our 'big' Ragdoll Male is about 4.5kg. The ninja ninja is 4kg, and I'm sure if he was an outdoor cat he'd boss everyone having lived wild for a year. We keep him in so he doesn't spread cat flu to non-vaccinated cats.
You could get a cat littler with a grating in the bottom - this means the litter lasts a bit longer as the pee goes through. Tip the pee around the garden's boarder.
