Does anyone have experience with buying a repaired cat D vehicle please ?
I understand that the vehicle will always be listed as cat D repaired, but are insurance companies usually OK with this generally ?

Yes but always mention it. Also they will pay out absolute minimum for the car if you claim if it is previously written off.

I, er, accidentally declared the motorbike as a cat d a bunch of times, it never made any difference to the insurance process (never had to claim on it). Eventually it turned out it'd never been written off after all, I was just confused 😆

Drove a cat-c for a bit, the car was a dog but that had nothing to do with the repair.

As above cost the same to insure, but i was informed from the outset any claim would be basied on it's true value and not that of a clean one
