Short sleeves, to be worn tucked out - for either casual wear or casual office, with jeans or possibly shorts (but not in the office obvs).
I like Tyrwhitt, where else should I look? They only have checks in their non-iron option, no pin stripes or alternatives.
Arc'teryx... seriously. But they don't do pinstripes. Do people wear pinstripe casual shirts? As a bonus you'll look like an off-duty, bad-ass climber to those in the know, ahem.

Probably the wrong answer, but I'm an M&S wearer for my work clothes. I tend to wear smart casual for work (with Chino's). M&S, Joules and even Hollister. Not that I go in the Hollister shop (eeek!!) - all online.
M&S tends to be fairly reasonable but seen as unfashionable, they have the range that my dad wears and then some of the shirts and polo shirts that I wear.
Short sleeve pin stripe is going to look odd...
Crew have a sale on at the moment.
TK Maxx and accept you have to rummage or H&M for me.
I'll pass on the obvious comment about short sleeves being worn to work...
TK Maxx
I think that pretty much all of my work shirts have come from there over the last years, although pickings seem to have become slimmer recently. I usually just flick through the medium sized shirts until I find something that's slim fit, short sleeved, dark blue, fairly plain, and relatively cheap.

Do you not know a man in Jermyn street?
Not anybody that would countenance making a short sleeved shirt to be worn OUTSIDE the trousers. It would make them shiver just thinking about it. 😛

tucked out –
Is the opposite of 'tucked in' not 'not tucked in'?
to be worn tucked out
A contradiction in terms Shirley?
It's either tucked in or it's not been tucked at all, or untucked if you prefer
untucked
Only if you've tucked it in previously...
Only if you’ve tucked it in previously…
That'd be detucked.
Unused items haven't been previously used.
I suppose I meant stripes generally. Seen some very nice striped shirts on other people.
And yes, the opposite of tucked in isn't tucked out - I was attempting humour through inappropriate extrapolation. A parent habit.
I'm not looking for work wear, I'm looking for casual wear, but I'd wear it to a very casual workplace also so as to be slightly above t-shirt level of casualness.
A parent habit.
Mother Tucker!
That’d be detucked.
Unused items haven’t been previously used
Items which were in use, but now aren't should be deused then?

Disused innit. Once a thing has been used it can't be unused.

Some nice casual shirts here, usually you can get at least a 50% discount code

Surely a shirt worn inside the trousers is a pair of underpants?
as a skinny 6-footer, I find All Saints shirts (size Small) to be a really nice fit. They don't always have a huge selection, but I picked a couple up in the sale last week...
Tucking in is weird. In my (albeit strange) mind it would make more sense to have trousers and shirts attached if they’re supposed to be tucked in. Tucking in a short sleeved shirt makes you look like Michael Douglas in Falling Down or Henry Rollins. A look best avoided unless your aim is to frighten people.
To my shame I buy work shirts from Tesco. I’m sorry STW.
Most of mine seem to be Mountain Warehouse.
Tucked in.
Untucked.
Detucked.
Part-tucked.
Flapping in the breeze.
but not in the office obvs
And why would that be? You work in tech don't you?

Added to the list of good eggs. They’re the same tucked in rules I abide by. Anything else is just weird.

And why would that be? You work in tech don’t you?
Yes but a) I'm a consultant and b) outside of trendy start-ups or small companies with a tame nerd as the office tech, shorts are a casual step too far even when wolf t-shirts aren't.

Do On-One still have those Hawiian shirts for a fiver? They might have run out as I'm sure they were selling like hot cakes.
M&M Direct for much cheapness.

The 'ahem' at the end of my original post was because it was tongue in cheek. Obviously a bit too subtle for STW :-/
Tucked in shirts only works if you're under 25 and skinny as a rake. If there's any belly, stop it!
Also, ties... No!
Enough of the ridiculous uniform from the dark ages. Unless you're a skinny teen trying to sell someone a house, you don't need any of this (and probably need a punch in the face anyway).
Stick to casual, untucked. A collar if it's work related maybe.
<applauds deadkenny>
In nearly 15 years of consulting, the only place that has ever commented on my somewhat relaxed approach to office attire was Lloyds of London, the door staff asking me to put on a tie (they have free clip on ones behind the front desks).
An untucked shirt should also be unbuttoned unless it's a super warm lumberjack style or short sleeved. Never wear a shirt with tails unless you are prepared to tuck.
Tucking in a short sleeved shirt is a dangerous game Never tuck a shirt into denim. Never ever wear a shirt made from denim.

That's what I'm after. Casual with a collar. And preferably a decent fit.
Never tuck a shirt into denim
Unless you're Swedish or German.
The last shirt thread was full of people deriding me for not tucking in whereas this one appears to be full of kindred spirits. Not understanding the collar reference though, don’t all shirts (bar grandad shirts) have a collar?
People who tuck shirts in to jeans are not to be trusted in my experience. Denim shirts can work if they are well worn and never, ever paired with other denim. Double denim is the devil
All my casual short sleeve shirts are bad ass climber types, Arcteryx, Rab, North Face, Decathlon etc. Wear them for work (untucked) with bad ass climber shorts and bad ass climber approach shoes...
to be worn tucked out
That’s really tucked up!

Well, I’m quite happy wearing a denim jacket with jeans, and I’d wear a western-style denim shirt with black or very dark indigo jeans over a tee shirt; I see plenty of younger people wearing denim jeans and jackets, who clearly couldn’t give a toss about what fashionistas have to say on the matter, but triple or quadruple denim is verboten! Too much Status Quo going on there!
No zero, no. Double denim is only okay if you’re a member of B’Witched. Are you a member of B’Witched?
Clause 4 applies here.
4. THOU SHALT NEVER, EVER, WEAR PANTALOONS DE NIMES.
When you have progressed beyond fondling girls in the back seats of cinemas, you can stop wearing jeans. Wear fabrics appropriate to your age, and, who knows, you might even get a quick fumble in your box at the opera.
