My mk2 16v Golf's heater matrix dumped boiling coolant on my feet this morning. Still love it 🙂

There's loads of cars I love the look of (E type, 250 GTO, Miura, etc), but it's needs to be about the driving experience. So it's got to be this thing. (Surprised it's not come up yet)

Five pages in and no one has mentioned this?!

Ferrari 250SWB, in that deep Ferrari Blue

If can't have that, then it would be either an Alfa Romeo Monza

Or the Bequet Delage

Sorry, can't seem to make the image embedding work on tonight-it just keeps crashing the site for me

I'd quite like an Action Mobile.
They make them 5 mins down the road from Leogang. Around £500000.

Would look nice in Llandegla car park next to all the T5s

Any one of these for me, but if it had to be one it would be the Stratos.

Mercedes Benz 300 SLR for me please. Number 722 to be exact, the one driven by Stirling Moss to win the Mille Miglia in '55.
Just stunning.

Anything from the group b days. I'd also love to restore a mk1 golf swallowtail, or my current retro crush:

A buddy of mine popped round for a cuppa the other evening - he's just taken delivery of his 'dream" car - after complimenting me on the coffee he remarked just how lacklustre he felt pertaining to his new toy - "I thought I'd be a lot more stoked" were his exact words ...

As I'm moving/moved into middle age I ought to get a Volvo - flat cap and some nice driving gloves.

There are too many cars that I like to list, but if I had to have just one, it would be a close call between the Merc 300SL

[img] [/img]

And the Ferrari 250 GT California

[img] [/img]

I've yet to see a modern car that really sets me alight like either of these two. There's just something about them that is just wonderful.

First car that I've ever coveted. Can't wait till these are widely available. The thought of climbing into the car and reading a book or having a wee sleep is fantastic.

For me its always been an Mazda RX-7, going up in price now but will definitely have one at some point.

I had a mildly tuned (375bhp) one. It was everything I hoped it would be and more.

I fancy another now, but with the Greddy Rocket Bunny kit:

It's taken me a while, I chose a Singer Porker up there, and yes whilst I would love one of those I have to plug for the ultimate car, for me, in my world, on my drive.

I first saw one back in 2010 on Sardinia, Porto Cervo to be exact. I was there competing in the Maxi World Cup and the yacht club in the harbour has an underground Carpark. I came out of my shared accom with my yachtie mates, crossed the road and past the barriers. One of these turned up, (the purple one below this) and a small italian slick haired, tanned, open shirt, tight jeans, Tods wearing 45 year old bloke got out of it..

I stood.. In Awe.

I adore this car....

Actually after saying Range Rover I thought of another: Ford RS200. I thought that was a beautiful car killed off by too many crashes in group B cars at the time. Now where's that lotto ticket?

Stylish, immensely fast and room for a mountain bike in the back. It's even 4wd so could probably handle the car park at Glentress. The ultimate estate car, surely?

I've wanted a done up Escort Mexico since I saw that episode of for the love of cars.

Either that or something that looks like a classic VW Camper but has all the mod cons and would be practical/economical to use as a daily driver.

My mother totalled one of those. Her first car.

My mum put her Mini through a hedge - she claims it was the first one imported into NI.

Singer Porsche? There's something about chaining a historic car I find wrong, I'd keep the impact bumpers.

Recent crush, not exactly unaffordable or impractical either.

@Moe

Apart from the fact they're MASSIVE of course 😉

Wider than the current Range Rover (the proper one), wider than the current S-Class, wider than a Hummer H2!

Proper 1275gt's are pretty rare these days and are increasing in price. Im rather partial to a clubman myself to be honest. I see one (could be a replica) most morning during the summer. Hes usually giving it a bit of clog when i see him which always raises a smile.

@Moe they don't look big in pics do they! Almost perfect proportions to look at IMHO, they're not particularly long I think, and of course they're not tall, but they're massively wide! 50mm wider even than a Diablo which is the widest thing I've ever seen on the road!

I'd love one though

My first car (actually, I think it's the only car I've bought with my own money) was an old Clubman. I can't say I liked it - it needed loads of maintenance (eg manual brake shoe adjustment), and I just didn't enjoy driving it. However, they do look great, and I'd love to have a go in one which is running really well.

There's something perversely ugly, yet desirable about a '96 993 911

I'm not a 911 fan but always thought these were the prettiest version.

Mine would be the mid 80's Testarossa. Rubbish by all accounts but the car of dreams for me.

RS200 Ford would also work, as would the F40 or 288 GTO, as would the RS500 Sierra.

Although, what I actually covert at the moment is a late 70's or early 80's David Brown tractor. One day I'll learn how to post pictures.

A good friend of mine has an Ferrari FF but hardly drives it. It gets too much of the wrong attention in his mind and he doesn't like to leave it anywhere were security is questionable. So that's out for me (as if I could afford one!)

The Singer Porsches are fabulous (and as expensive as the FF) and I'd coveat one.

Although a Porsche CSR is a more possible alternative

For me it'd either be a R34 Skyline, completely unmodified mind you or Corolla AE86 again unmodified but I'd certainly look to mod it slightly.

Always wanted a Lancia Integrale

Everyone should own one at some point, 😀

I had a red 2.0 HF Integrale for a brief period in 1991, i was only 19 at the time but worked in a garage and i bought it from a customer who chopped n' changed his cars on a whim or whenever he ditched them, It did have quite a fair bit of bodywork damage along one side but i had access to the bodyshop/jig/spraybooth etc so over 6 months i did it up (at trade cost) and ran it on the road for a few months with stupidly daft insurance costs - utterly bonkers car on the road and it demolished the cosworths that were around at the time but the running costs were astronomical and being LHD it was a right pain in the arse as you couldn't sight round corners and certain junctions so i sold it for a decent profit and bought a tired dog of a RS2000 which was so much more fun at semi-sensible speeds.
