There's one of those Skylines for sale near me for 50k and it's the only one I've ever seen in the flesh. It's a stunner. Lightyears ahead of what was available from other manufacturers in 1972.

Personally, I could fill a few pages so I'll just post my current crush.
[img] [/img]

No real interest in a fast car for the road anymore. I just want something for the track with sticky tyres and flame throwing exhaust.

POW Volante. Preferably this one;
[img] [/img]

Or, a DB4GT. Like this one;
[img] [/img]

But, really, it would be the awfully raffish, V600 Le Mans.

If I won the lottery into 7 figures I might have to get a 911 of some sort - a 2WD "basic" one. For some reason there is something that's enduringly appealing about every generation of that car to me and the Carrera 2 or whatever the bottom end one is these days would be enough I think to scratch the itch.

Title says "Cars you covet". Plural. So, I'll have those three, thanks. If it had to be one, it would be the V600. I just love the utter lunacy of it, and the noise. Oh, my Lord above....the noise! A properly coach built work of art, made by men in brown coats but with the power to turn the world off it's axis.

The POW is a lovely statement car, from an age that was full of awful cars.
The DB4GT is the overlooked stunner. Everyone looks at the "Bond" cars, but they're wrong. Of course, they're wrong as Bond drove a Blower, but they're also wrong as that GT is, well.....just look at it!

Oh, and possibly a '56 Bentley Continental DHC by Mulliner Park Ward.

That might be the one that was up for auction at Goodwood at £895k or so. Expensive tastes, CFH! (But I think we knew that).

Stoner, stop that filth!

Mrs CFH grew up with one of those. And an UR quattro SWB. There's one of the "normal" ones in the village, and it's lovely. Utterly lovely. The UR are ever more so!
[img] [/img]

Julian, there are, I believe, around 15 of them left, and that price sounds about right. A near neighbour had one when we lived in London. Used to use it to drive his dogs to the park for a walk. Class. Pure, undiluted class!

(Hope your old banger's doing well, BTW. And no, I don't mean Mrs A! She'd kill me!)

My dad taught me from very young that it was the best car, like, evvah.

So that, please

(Edit - funnily enough, my mum always used to tell him those ^ lancias were much nicer)

@CFH Yes, the Merc is doing nicely, thank you. Tickover almost completely sorted out by new plugs so now very useable. Trip to the the Revival went perfectly.

Looking forward to taking her to the continent some time.

@sharkattack, nah, I want a standard viva nose one not a droop snoot, and sensible lines. I know a rover v8 or smallblock chevy fits in them, which should be especially easy since if I ever do get to do the project, in like 20 years or whenever, any car I get will be made entirely of rust and holes- perfect!

One shot? Where's the fun in that, I want to shop around for exotica.

There's this. One of only 70[img] [/img]

Yes, I know it's a 30 year old Golf but look closer. Yes, I know a Corrado is prettier, better built (debatable), a better handler (they handle very, very well, I know from experience) and some have that charismatic V6, but the q-car appeal of the Limited does it for me.

There's this [img] [/img]

It's gorgeous. Seriously, it's pretty. I feel better already having looked at it.

Corrado's do handle very well when set up correctly but not when you give them to your younger brother for a quick shot at a trackday meet, unfortunately he's not mechanically sympathetic nor that skilful when it comes to driving but promised me he would take it easy which he did until he experienced lift off oversteer, he panicked and flipped it a few times then went backwards at high speed into a post.

[img] [/img]

The car cost me £3.5k, i spent another £2.5k and countless hours on making it stop better, steer/handle better and go faster…..he walked away without a scratch but had a bit of a sore neck for a few days which i guess says a lot for the build quality.

I also like my Sciroccos, especially when they run twin 40's.

[img] [/img]

Currently have a 32yr old golf with an ABT tuned 2.0 ABF 16v engine, needless to say i don't allow him within 100 yards of it, although i am in the process of a full restoration/acid dip on the bare shell at the moment, this is how it looked last year.

[img] [/img]

[img] [/img]

But the car i covet the most (within reasonable attainment possibilities) would have to be this group A Golf, or a genuine berg cup golf.

A Delorean overtook me the other week on the A47 south of Norwich. Doesn't float my boat, but was the first time I'd seen one actually moving.

As for car to covet, I like to think I'm over all that nonsense now, having spent way too much money on cars over the years, however, Slack Jr. has been told that I will only accept a Lancia Delta HF Integrale.

When I sold my Skyline I came way too close to buying a 996 GT3 RS. Then I started having naughty thoughts over a 360 Challenge Stradale. I was young, and earnt well, yet I ended up buying nothing.

I kick myself to this day, the 360 has appreciated at an astronomical rate. The 996 hasn't done badly either.

These days I quite fancy an RS6 Avant.

Obviously I lack ambition and imagination. Always fancied a Polo breadvan, along with a Volvo 360GLT. Mind today I did look at a C4 Picasso and thought it looked fit for purpose.

Must say that Unimog above looks fit.

It's little quirks, like the way you have to climb over the handbrake to get in and out.

I'm pretty boring these fYs, a few years ago one of those Golf Limiteds would be near the top of the list, or something really silly like an F40 or Carera GT.

But now 'all' I want is an A6 estate with the 3.0tdi bi-turbo engine.

The fast Audi's nowadays are extremely capable, but actually becuase of that they are a bit boring. Not my experience, but from a couple of people I know who have owned them! (RS6 Avant, RS4 etc).
A bloke I know who used to work for a Ferrari race team and went on to do stuff with Lamborghini, then ran his own garage selling performance cars says one of the best cars he has driven was a Fiat 500 Abarth Essess (sp?) - go figure!

Small, light, powerful is the way to go.

Dream car for me, I always wanted a Diablo in purple. With a white interior, thanks very much. Love Lambo's but don't like the newer ones, not mental enough.... Would have to have an Akropovic exhaust system on it too, loud as possible please.

[img] [/img]

In more attainable cars, I am hopefully buying a dream car for me soon. A friend of mine's dad back in school had a Volvo 740 turbo and I got a ride in it. Always wanted one, have waited 25 years but maybe soon!!

Adverts were brilliant!

[img] [/img]

[img] [/img]

And they can be made to look pretty badass too....

My uncle in Maine specialises in putting V8 Mustnag engines into Volvo station wagons - he built a Volvo 740 for Paul Newman that could do 0-60 in 4 seconds 😉

Can I have my old Integra Type-R back? (photo not of mine but very similar)

Oh Mine changes like the weather....But If you have a few hours to kill....

I tend to watch this in the bedroom on a cheeky Saturday morning via the Fire stick.

There are some wonderful and exotic cars on here but it is the tales of the more ordinary one that I enjoy the most.

Petrolicious on Youtube

and to start you off the humble MR2

I make no apology for banging this drum again on here, I am sure all the above posters will enjoy these small vids...Just start with one and let them roll...

And to answer the Op's question...This week it is a Final Edition Alfa Spider V6.
